Tom Tord

The Waterfall

Tom ran out of his house as fast as he could, tears brimming his eyes, as soon as he read the letter from Tord. He didn't care if he still had glass all over his neck, he didn't care if his blue hoodie was stained with blood. All he cared about was saving Tord. He cut right through the forest to save the love of his life.

Tord was crying and out of breath by the time he got to the waterfall. He walked up to the edge, and he was just about to jump when he felt the warm hand of his late boyfriend on his arm. Tom was there and he had just grabbed Tord's arm to save him from jumping. Tord was yanked back into toms arms and he stayed there, bawling into Tom's chest. "What the heck were you doing, Tord?! How could you do this to me?! Obviously I still care about you! Of course I still love you! Don't jump Tord!" Tom cried. Tord backed away and got his first good look at Tom. "Tom!" He screamed when he noticed the glass and the blood. "What did you do?!" Tom wiped his tears and looked down. "I didn't... I didn't do it Tord." Tord put his hands on Tord's shoulders. "Then who?" He sniffled. Tom looked hesitant to answer but he muttered one single word. "My father..." Tom said bitterly.

Tom knew the second he said it he never should have confessed, but Tord would have known if he was lying. Toms gut felt like it was dropped from his stomach. Tord wouldn't kill himself if he knew how much he meant to Tom, but if he confessed that Tom still loved him then his dad would kill him. He didn't know what was more important. He decided that he was not going to let his dad get the best of him once again. "Tord... The truth is... I still love you." Tom stuttered. "My dad threatened to kill me unless we broke up... But I'm not going to let him boss me around anymore. I'm going to run away and I want you to come with me. Please say you will come, Tord!"

Tord was shocked Tom had made such a statement.
"Tom I'd follow you till I die." Tord confessed. "I love you." Tom smiled. "I love you too. Now let's get going before we get caught." Tord laughed. "Okay Tom." They both went home to their separate homes to pack for the journey of a lifetime. One that they would do together. They would stay together forever and never worry about getting hurt again.
