And as I had mentioned, the highlight of the night was the Finale dance. Usually, it would take place at about ten, just before the ball ended. The orchestra would start playing a mild fanfare, repeating it for about three times for everybody to get into place. The men would gather into one line on the right and the ladies on the left into one line as well. We would go into clapping and a little of the Irish step dancing as we zigzagged each other. The fun thing out of it was that you would keep rotating partners and the music would get faster and faster. It would finally end with throwing the ladies in the air. But this was only done if the lady gave you her permission.

There were guests who were unfamiliar with the dance and chose to stand aside. That was acceptable, but where was the fun then? Sometimes, you could see some brave souls trying hard to catch up but dropped out in the end.

I was determined to teach the boys our dance. Even if not the boys, at least Niall. But first, I had to make sure his ballroom dance was presentable since he would be taking the second dance.

"Shit!" he exclaimed again. "Did I step on you again?"

"Gosh, Niall! You are terrible!" Sammy laughed as she and Harry danced next to us.

Niall winced, "It's extremely stressful to be dancing with the princess!"

I looked at him and he quickly added, "I don't mean it that way...!"

I shrugged, "Why don't we take a break? We've been practising for the past one hour."

"I always thought dancing was fun..." Niall grumbled.

"Buck up buddy!" Zayn patted him on his back.

Zayn had been more than cheerful these days. He was often on his Twitter and smiling into his phone. I found out from Niall that he was getting closer with this girl called Perrie Edwards – a girl they met on X-factor.

Sometimes when Zayn was not around, the boys would discuss about Jo and how much they missed her. She seemed to be a lively and bubbly girl, not forgetting super talented at playing the drums. They were unable to figure out the drastic decision Zayn made for breaking up with her. They still kept in contact with her through messages and Twitter but her school work was piling up and she hardly replied that regularly anymore.

"When are we going to learn the finale dance?" Harry asked as he and Sammy finally took a break. They were a good match and I kept wondering what was keeping them to be together.

"We can do it after this," I said.

"It looks like fun," Louis piped.

I had showed them a video of the dance earlier on.

"I wonder who I can throw," Louis mused.

"You have to find a girl willing to be thrown by you first," Sammy laughed.

"Which I'm sure there would be plenty," I chuckled.

"Do you think there would be our fans amidst all these serious people?" Harry asked.

"You never know," I smiled.

"At least, I have someone to throw," he grinned and looked at Sammy.

"When did I agree?" Sammy pointed out.

"I better learn it well," Niall sighed.

"We don't have to do it," I told him.

"Yeah," Sammy added. "Besides, there's always Chester."

"Maybe I should ask Mirabelle if she wants to be thrown by me," Louis said suddenly.

We laughed.

"Does Mirabelle have a partner?" Harry asked.
