Swimming in and out of reality and the realm of dreams.
Barely conscious.
The only tell tale sign that she was truly awake was pain behind her right eye. A white hot searing sensation.
She wasn't certain where she was.. When it was... Or who she was for that matter.
Utter silence.
The only noise offering its self to her delicate ear drums was the rhythmical rise and fall of her chest.
Breathing.
A harsh, raspy sound against ears that had been closed off to sounds for what could have been days.. Weeks even.
Slowly, the pair of oculars opened, tentative at first, not sure what would lie behind the pair of lids that obscured everything in a black.
The darkness was safe compared to the world outside of those warm brown eyes.
The scenery around the young woman was unusual and unfamiliar.. Well, as unfamiliar as things can get when you don't know who you are or where you are.
Eyes still trying to adjust to the dim lighting, she began to take in her immediate surroundings.
Medium sized buildings encircled where she lay on the cracked pavement, in what she determined to be a small alleyway.
Possibly the outskirts of a city. But of course, the lass couldn't be sure.
Any memories of being in a place similar to this were wiped clean.
The only thing she could be one hundred percent sure of was that her name was Amaia and this seemingly hostile alleyway was not where she belonged.
