Return From the Speedforce

Barry's return

Barry felt like his body was pulsing with electricity, every second, every movement was followed by pulsing in his arms and legs. For a while Barry had no idea where he was, just in a dust storm of energy; his mind knew that he was in the speed force but coming to terms with what this was supposed to be and how he was supposed to live here, he couldn't exactly wrap his head around it. It wasn't like before, he didn't wake up in his childhood bedroom or at the police station, he was just there. He didn't know how he could just be, while he was in the speed force.

One moment Barry was running in circles in his enterinty of nothingness, then he was flying through the Central City Police Station bulletin; he didn't know how he got there when he landed in heap next to a desk. He knew that he shouldn't have been able to get out of the prison. Barry just layed there not really processing that he was out, that he was back in his reality. It took him longer to realize that there were people around him, that his suit was in tatters. When Barry looked up at the people around him he didn't reconize any of them, he didn't know if he just didn't know them or if there was something wrong with his memory.

By the time that Joe gets to Barry, he's shaking and not looking at anyone. The cops around him are muttering things, 'he hasn't said a word', 'the look in his eyes was like we were strangers', 'what happened to the kid'. When Joe bends down to Barry intending to pull him away from the gawking police officers, Barry quickly pulls away slaming his back into the desk he was leaning against. "Hey it's Joe, you're alright Barry. You're safe now," Joe says and Barry just looks him with a questioning look, like he doesn't believe him; or a part of him doesn't believe this is real.

Barry lets Joe help him up and he almost falls down not really remembering how to walk, Joe just pulls him closer sliding his arm around Barry's back and pulling Barry's arm across his shoulders. Barry's not really sure if he's going to be able to walk, but once Joe starts to walk away from the crowd his feet decide to move along with him, just in a slow and not cordinated way. He thinks even if he had to he wouldn't be able to run right now. Joe leads Barry out to his crusier, he's kind of afraid of the way that Barry is acting, he hasn't said anything and every second he looks around him as if he thinks his surroundings are going to change. Joe grabs a blanket from the trunk and goes over to the passenger side, pulling open the door and wraps the blanket around Barry, but Barry doesn't react or move; it's like he's not even there. Joe pulls the seat belt around Barry strapping him in then quickly gets around to the drivers side and starts off towards Star Labs. Joe doesn't know what to do but maybe they would, maybe Caitlin, Cisco or Harry would. It had taken a lot of convincing but Caitlin finally rejoined the team after a month on her own, now they had the team all back together, but Joe wasn't sure if Barry would be in the state to try and be a team anymore. He didn't know what he'd seen, what he was reliving, he didn't know how to help his son.

When Joe walked Barry into the cortex Barry was still being overly quiet and kept his head down letting Joe steer him and keep an arm around him keeping him up right.
