He was a man but not quite.
It was a river but didn't flow just right.
It was time but didn't pass by quick enough.
She was a woman but wasn't built right.
It was a ship but didn't sail in the night.
It was nothing but everything just the same.
It was children playing war, while soldiers looked on with sadness in their eyes and fear in their hearts.
It was its opposite, its other half.
But never different, and never the same.
It was a piece of the the universe but it didn't quite fit,
But that's ok, none of them did.
