You have been so many things to me over the years. Cousin, sister, friend, confidant, savior, student, teacher. The list could go on for days. You have been essential to my survival for many years. You have looked into the dark abyss with me and somehow pulled me back. You have shown me the fierce love and dedication that no one has ever thought to show me before. I can honestly say I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for you.
So many times I have been lost and alone. Without me saying anything you were able to find me in my world of darkness and shadows and lead me to safety. You have seen the gaping wounds and the scars they have turned into. And you never judged me. You have only ever supported me. Even when I wanted nothing more than for you to leave me alone, you never did. You have always said what I needed to hear, rather than what I wanted to hear. You were honest and true with me when I begged for lies. You see the pain behind the smile. You hear my screams in the silence. And with your light, you cast away the shadows.
