Neji x Reader

Meetings

You were always an odd person. No one took interest in you, nor did you in them. To everyone you were "Quiet" and "Thoughtful". You did all of your work and were top in the academy, even better than the Uchiha and the Hyuga (In this story im making it so that Naruto wasn't alone and everyone went to the same place dont hurt me pls) You didn't think much of it, it was all easy. It was just basic understanding. You scored 100 in every assignment because of this. You were eating lunch alone, outside, when a brunette boy came up to you and glared with pearl-like eyes. You look up with a questioning look until he spoke with an ashamed tone; "You are (l/n) (f/n), correct?"
"Yes." You answered, a short answer since you haven't ever talked to him before.
"Then...Help me understand this. You got 100 on it. Show me." Neji asked while looking at you.
'Maybe it wont hurt to help...he might be nice' you thought. You agreed and spent your lunch helping him, and to his surprise, you were a great teacher.

Neji's POV
She taught better than the teacher did...she was nice and didnt get mad when i asked her to explain it again. She didnt judge me for being a 'prodigy' and smiled. Ive been observing her for a while now...she never talks. This is the first time ive heard her voice. Its pretty. She's beautiful. It was nice not having to figure out everything I dont understand all alone. I guess this is what TenTen was saying when she explained what a "crush" was when Lee asked why she got weird around some guy. (F/n), huh? I hope no one finds out I dont understand alot of things they teach and have to spend hours trying to wrap my head around it. I can understand it perfectly when (f/n) explains it. To be honest, im asking her to repeat it so that I can hear her talk more.

Normal POV
The bell rang and you began to clean everything up. "I'll see you tomorrow (f/n)" Neji said, and stormed off. You felt weird after hearing him call you by your first name. Butterflies. You could say that.
The next day at lunch Neji came by, but instead of books he came with his own lunch. You looked at him as he sat down next to you and began to eat.  You both sat in silence and ate for a few minutes. Not knowing what to say, the silence persisted. You glanced at him occasionally and your mind inevitably wondered into an alternate reality. Mainly thinking of the Hyuga. Your thoughts were cut off by the deep voice of the boy beside you.
"Do you have any friends, (f/n)?" Said Neji.
"No."
You answered simply. It didnt affect you anymore. You got a flashback or two about why, and sadness struck you again. But you never let it show anyway, why start now?
"Then come with me. Ill introduce you."
He took you to the training field where TenTen and Lee were training.
He introduced you to them with a strict order: "Come eat lunch with us everyday. If you don't come, we'll assume the worst." You agreed to it and after the last class ended, Neji took you to your home to know where you lived. Neji waved goodbye and TenTen and Lee followed, and as they left you went into your house. Your happiness was shortlived when you remembered why you had no friends or family in the first place. A silent tear slid down your face as you left your stuff and went to the forest. You always went to a secret place in the forest to train. It was a place your mother and father showed you when you were young. You went to the deep part of the forest and found a familiar cave. You went inside and found a shallow pond inside and removed the genjutsu covering the entrance in which you dived in and swam. It led to a secret place you had made your second home. You trained your genjutsu for hours until you decided it was time to leave. You replaced the genjutsu and left, but as you were walking you found Neji training. You stayed hidden and watched as he trained and almost passed out from overuse of chakra. He kept muttering words and you payed no mind until you heard your name. You thought he had found you out and so you left your safe hiding and entered the scary path of explaining why you were there, in the deep part of the forest, alone, watching him. 'Im going to need a hell of a lie to get myself out of this one..' you thought as you stepped away from where you had been hiding. Neji whipped his head around like a startled deer, his long brunette hair out of his usual lose pony tail, disheaveled and sticking to his sweaty body, his exposed muscles and toned abdomen glistening and pearl colored eyes looking at you (e/c) ones. He regained his composure and walked up to you. You hadnt noticed before but his height was far greater than yours. He took your hand and made you follow him back to the village. Your house was approaching and you were confused. Why was he taking you home? Why hasn't he said anything? Is he mad? You were worried for the first time in a long time and soon you were at your house, when Neji finally spoke.
"WHAT WERE YOU DOING THERE?!" his expression was anger and worry and his loud words scared you. You weren't expecting him to get angry. Your usual emotionless face held a rare expression of fear and worry, one you hadnt worn in years. Neji saw this and his face warped to regret
"Im sorry, I shouldnt have yelled but why were you all alone in the forest? Its dangerous. Unless I know how well you can defend yourself I cannot trust you will be safe." He said, a tint of red on his cheeks which you assumed was from training so you ignored it. You decided to be bold and took him to the training field. He was surprised and confused and you explained.
"I-if you want to test my strength then lets fight...that way you wont be so worried..." he agreed and you fought. For hours. It was pretty much a tie until Neji got the upperhand and defeated you (im crap at fight scenes and ita been forever since I saw Naruto im sorry) That fight made you feel closer with Neji...You went home feeling glad and looked forward to seeing him the next day.
