Penny
Penny Piper was not the type to fall in love quickly. No exceptions were made when she met Declan Dove. She was as guarded and quick tongued at ever. Although this did not discourage Declan as he found that soon after speaking to Piper the first time she was not at strict as she usually was. This is not to say she still didn't roll her eyes every time Declan got on that blasted motorcycle of his, she just did it with a bit of a smile on her face. One she wished she could deny. Penny would never admit to anyone, including herself, that Declan could be entertaining at times. She could never be the least bit attracted to him, could she? After all they were polar opposites. Penny Piper wore cardigans, her curly ebony hair up in a bun as to not get in the way of her studys. Ink stained her chocolate skin. "Yet another disadvantage of being left-handed." she'd murmur, when people would ask about it. She was the pinnacle of the word scholar with the thick framed glasses to prove it. Declan Dove however, had never given a damn about essays and equations. He was born in leather. Wavy black hair framed his sharp, pale features. His thick lips the main attraction of the school. When he walked through the hall girls and guys alike would stare as if it was some sort of cheesy high school movie. Engine oil blackened his hands from the time he spent attempting to better his motorcycle. Penny would never dare voluntarily speak to him, until one fateful Monday morning. She stood at her locker talking to her friend, Clayton Acker, drinking her black coffee as to not have to throw it in trash before class. Suddenly the bell rang, disappointedly, she dropped her caffeine in the bin on the way to language. Penny took her seat beside the window just as the teacher walked in. In tow was Declan Dove, clearly not worried about whether he was on time. Penny wondered where the new bruise that was forming across his cheekbone came from, not even realizing she was staring. He took his seat in the very back of the room and planted his feet on the desktop. When he noticed Penny gawking he smirked at her, throwing his hand up and half heartedly waving. She scoffed and shook her head, turning her attention to Mr. Schneider, droning on about analogies.
Declan
Declan's eyes were boring a hole into the back of the raven haired woman who had scoffed at him and he knew it. He was going to get her attention if it was the death of him. His mind was completely focused on why she found him so exasperating if he hadn't heard a word from her mouth other than the short yet sure answers that rang from her mouth every time a teacher asked a question. Declan would have said her name had she not have been so far away. Sooner rather than later, he was startled out of his trance as the bell rang throughout the halls. He didn't move from his seat like he usually did though. He waited for this entitled woman to place her notes in her plain messenger bag, and then make her way to the door. only as she passed Declan's desk, did he stand. When he grabbed her arm she jumped and spun on her heel. She straightened her sweater out and then spoke in a slightly irritated voice,
"Is there something you need?" Expecting a small voice to come out of the tiny frame, Declan was very surprised when a rather commanding voice emanated from the small girl. With a raised brow he replied,
"Just wondering what you were fantasizing about love." He replied in a sarcastic tone, "No need to be impolite about it."
"The name's Penny, if your going to be a complete imbecile at least lay off the pet names." she deadpanned.
"Well Penny," Declan continued his jeer, "Maybe you'd like to meet after school for some coffee?" Penny seemed to contemplate for a moment before shaking her head.
"I can't, I've got to tutor." she declared, albeit not seeming disappointed. This of course, just cheered Declan on.
"Well then," he pridefully rebutted, worrying Penny, " Tutor me."
