Sleepless

The New Kid

I (Isabel) was the girl who had it all. My life was absolutely perfect. Until Jacob showed up and made my life a living hell. Let me take you back to when it all happened. It was the middle of the school year and I was in my History class. Then the teacher introduced us to the new kid. His name was Jacob. His skin was pale white like a cloud. He sat him at my group table. I could tell he was scared so I spoke to him with the most gentle voice ever. "Hi. You don't have to be scared. Most of us in here are pretty nice over all." He sat their gazing at my eyes so intently. Right then and their he said so quietly I couldn't even hear him "Your beautiful." "Well thank you but i'm taken. And you don't look to bad yourself." I knew that I had hurt his feelings and I wanted to make it up to him. "You wanna sit with me and my friends at lunch?" He stared back and a tear rolled down his cheek. I didn't know what to do so I ignored it. At lunch surprisingly he came to sit with us. "Listen Jacob I'm" I began but he responded "No it's fine." "Well I'm glad you came to sit with us." I could see that Henry was coming up towards me. He gave me a sweet and savory kiss and said hi to all my friends. Jacob immediately ran away from the table. I couldn't seem to figure out what was wrong with him. I ran after him and when I finally came up he shouted "You don't belong with him! The rules forbid your love!" I couldn't seem to figure out what he was talking about so i said back to him"  are you okay? Let me take you to the nurse." "No! You need to come with me!" He grabbed my hand and his was freezing cold. "No! Jacob stop you need some serious help!" But he wouldn't let go. I bite him and ran towards Adam outside sitting at the table. And he holds me in is welcoming and warm arms. On my way home Jacob showed up again. " What do you want? Just leave me alone please." "I really need to show you something. You need to know about yourself and your family." "What?! I already know everything about my family. I mean they are my family after all." I walked away after saying that.

That night:

I was sitting on my bed texting Adam:

Me- Hey thank you for helping me out with the weird new kid.😘

Adam- No problem. If you ever see him again and he goes crazy on you just let me know I'll be there to save you. But anyways I gotta go so I'll see you later good night.😊

Me- Good night.

Right then and there I look out of the window and thought I seen someone watching me. I couldn't believe it I know I'm beautiful but I don't feel like getting stalked. The person came closer into view and it was the last person I ever wanted to see in my entire life JACOB! He came onto the porch and I was wondering how he got there so fast. I went over to open the door and tell him to leave but he was just standing there. He stares way too much and I really didn't like it. I opened the door and he came rushing in. He was lucky enough that my parents weren't home. "Listen. I know that your trying to be friends with me but I just don't think we can be." "Come with me please? I'm begging you." I couldn't stand it any more so I just said yes. "Thank you for finally listening to me." "You don't have to thank me I'm just doing this so you can leave me alone." He and I walked to the forest and there he stepped into the moonlight. I could see he had fangs and red blood dripped from his lips. "What do you want with me? I don't want to be dead." "I don't know why your so scared. Your just like me. Cold to the touch. Really sharp incisors. Pale skin. Everyone in your family is a vampire. You ever wonder why you can't sleep at night it's because we don't sleep. And you shouldn't be dating Henry because he's a bad influence on you." Now I had thought that Jacob really lost it. He was telling me to my face that I was a vampire. But then again he was true about all of those things. I did have cold but not to cold skin, my incisors were razor sharp and I could never get any sleep at night. He was right. I couldn't endanger Henry. I had to break up with him no matter how bad it hurt me and him. I had to save him from me and my monster/really cool self. I was going to be really hurt that I couldn't hang out with him anymore or ever feel the touch of his warm skin. So much for being me. What Jacob did next you wouldn't believe... He asked me out. And my answer shocked myself as well. I said yes. If it meant that I could be away from Henry and not hurt him.
