I am not different because I'm not you
I am not odd because I don't like the things you like.
So don't look at me like i'm different
Don't look at me like there's something wrong with me,
Because there isn't
The constitution states that we are free,
Free to speak
Free to believe
Free to be whatever and who ever we want...
But it doesn't protect us from your words.
Your words...
Your words are like knives stabbing into my skin,
Just begging for a reaction,
So that everyone will see how much of a loser I really am.
You call me a devil worshiper because my religion is different from yours,
You call me demon because my religion is "evil"
But I am neither of thouse
And if you knew me you would know that
But you don't know me
And you don't want to.
And as you stab those insults into the abyss behind my ribs,
Kids are laughing in the background because it is
Just. So. Funny.
This?
This is the world today.
Kids picking on kids
like children picking at food
And while the picked on deal with it,
The picking say through their laughing mouths,
"Right?!"
They think, its funny,
They think its cool
Ruining kids life as if it's not already bad enough.
That girl you called a skeleton, she can't afford food.
That boy you just called a cry baby because he started crying when someone caught his ball in dodgeball, he is called a failure every day by his father.
That man sitting at the bar down to his last allowed shot you called an alcoholic, he just lost his daughter.
Kids today put everyone down attempting to bring themselves up.
And to nobody's surprise, it works.
I see all thes "Stop bullying!" posters on the wall that teachers put up attempting to stop the poison coming out of one kid just to slide itself into the heart of another.
And as that poison deepens, it begins to turn the space behind their ribs into an endless abyss that nobody can find the bottom of.
Kids telling other kids to kill themselves not knowing they would listen Until they do.
This is the world today and nobody can stop it.
That's just the stone cold truth that nobody can deny
I don't know about the past,
I don't know about the future
But I do know that this is the world today.
