Battle Scar (A Warrior cats fanfiction)

Prologue

War... One of the many things Leafclan is infamous for. A medicine cat had sorted his herbs, preparing for injuries. His ears were flattened against his head, as he watched cats run through the camp, scratching and hissing. His claws were out. He wasn't going to let any cats kill him today. A Leafclan cat ran into the den, hissing and ready to attack him. A black and white cat ran after him, screeching at the Leafclan cat as they knocked them away before they reached him. He ran over to the black and white cat, holding onto some cobwebs. "Swiftstream! Are you alright?" Swiftstream clawed the cat enough for it to limp out of the Medicine cat den, and then looked at the cat. "Save the herbs for a cat who needs it, Sagethorn. But thank you.." Swiftstream ran out of the Medicine cat den, ready to fight. A bit after, he heard a cat yell. "LEAFCLAN, RETREAT!" Many cats ran out of the camp his clan called home. He ran out of his den, clinging onto the herbs he needed. "Is everyone alright?!" a ginger cat limped towards Sagethorn. "One cat got my leg really bad... Can you treat it?" Some other cats walked towards Sagethorn, and he made a notion for them to follow him into his den as he padded in. He started treating the Ginger cat whose got their leg injured. He stared at their leg for a bit. "Emberleaf, it doesn't seem to be crippling or anything, but it does seem like they hit your leg hard enough that you'll limp for a couple days. Emberleaf let out an annoyed sigh. "Well, that's Fox dung. But I won't be crippled, so that's good..." Sagethorn gently rubbed some marigold on it, then wrapped it in cobwebs. "There you go. Let me know when you think you aren't limping anymore." Sagethorn said to Emberleaf. "Will do! Thanks buddy!" Emberleaf limped out of the Medicine cat den, her normal happy self. Sagethorn let out a sigh as an apprentice limped forwards. "I think I'm gonna have a scar.." The Apprentice whimpered. "It'll show what you went through to earn it. Battles, every cat has them. Even over simple things like a dead mouse." He sighed as the apprentice layed down. The wound wasn't too bad on his back, but it WOULD scar. He covered it with cobwebs. "It'll heal in a couple of weeks, possibly even a moon. But it will scar." Sagethorn nodded at the apprentice. "Thanks, Sagethorn!" The apprentice yelled as he ran out of the den. "Your welcome Cherrypaw!" Sagethorn responded. He sighed after Cherrypaw left. "Just because you wanted a she-kit doesn't mean your son has to have a name that most she-cats have..." He murmured. He treated the other cats, then plopped down in his nest. "I really need an apprentice..." He hissed under his breath, then fell asleep.

Sagethorn woke up in a weird realm. "Where am I..?" he wondered. He looked behind him. Frost was covering the ground. And it seemed like morning... He noticed that the grass and flowers were dying when the frost touched them. He quickly ran away, praying to Starclan that the frost wouldn't get to him. He leapt onto a rock, then the frost stopped... Everything around was dead. Trees, flowers, grass, you name it. It had died. Then, a sprout grew out of the frost. It grew into a large tree with pink leaves, also known as a cherry tree. Then the frost melted away, and sprouts of everything grew out of the dirt and dead grass. "...What?" He meowed. "Is this a prophecy..? Starclan, what are you trying to say?!" He hissed at the sky.

Sagethorn woke up, and looked around at his den. He was back in the real world.. "It must be a prophecy... I don't get dreams like that every day." He murmured. He thought for a bit, before the thought of something. "The morning frost will cover the ground, killing everything in it's wake. But frost doesn't last forever, for the cherry tree will grow and new life will begin..." He sighed. He didn't need a prophecy right now... Right after a battle... He thought of Cherrypaw when he said 'Cherry tree'. "That kit..? No, it must be another cat with Cherry in their name. He doesn't seem ready to be in a prophecy..."
