Tired would be an understatement as I look back at my reflection in my bathroom mirror. My eyes groggy of exhaustion and my under eyes a dark color. Why? Because of course I sacrificed sleep to perfect one of Mrs. Jenkins essays, and ruining a 4.0 GPA being a senior isn't something I would want to do. I apply some quick concealer under my eyes, mascara and a clear gloss. I look back at the mirror to see me in a plain white shirt, and black skinny jeans. Last thing to do, HAIR! I run the brush gently through my dark brown hair, not wanting to go too rough and adding more frizz to it. I take one last look and rush downstairs to find my mom making breakfast.
"You went to bed late last night didn't you?"
" I did, I did," I repeat. "How'd you know?"
"You always seem to be rushing when you don't get your sleep," she says as she puts a plate with toast and scrambled eggs in front of me. I scrunch my eyebrows as I say, "I do? Didn't notice that till you mention it now." She shakes her head and smiles and then says, "Oh and I'll be getting home late tonight Venus. You know how hospital shifts work." I nod my head, and she continues, "And your dad left early this morning for work. But for now only worry about eating breakfast. School starts in 20 minutes."

I park my car, a baby blue beetle to be more exact, and ohh the dread that comes to me when I see the school building. Don't get me wrong, I like school, but on some days, like today I just wish to stay at home and chill. At least it's my last year here! I walk to my locker knowing there's 5 more minutes till the bell rings to excuse us to our classes. When I'm greeted with my best friend Savanah, popping hazel eyes and her usual curled blond hair. Out of the two, shes the one who gets more attention from guys. I mean she's the blonde with a fun personality when I'm just the one with dark brown hair, brown eyes and a can be fun person? I'm not very close to a lot of people, but Savanah for sure is one. Sometimes idk how we ended up best friends when on some situations we are polar opposites. "Veeeeee! We change seats today in Math and although I looove sitting by you, I'm hoping to get stuck with mega hottie Dylan Jacobs!" She squeals. We've been 2 months into our senior year and Ms. Fields, our math teacher, likes to switch us every now and then. Her reason? To supposedly get to know more people better.

"Sav Sav,you never change do you?" I shake my head chuckling. "I thought you were mega crushing on Mason last week?"

"I'm not tied down to a relationship or am i? Nope! So that means I can check out how many guys I want!"

I put my hands up to my sides showing defense as I say, "You're right! You aren't tied down, and neither am I but do I have a guy selected every week? Nope!"

She sighs and says, "That's cause your booooring V." I'm about to answer her when the bell rings and on we go to math class!
