You and Genos sat in the middle of your workshop. The sun had set long ago, but no one bothered to turn on the lights. The soft glow of the moon was enough. Bent metal and spare parts scattered the floor, as you fixed the cyborg up after a recent Demon Level attack.

His quiet voice broke the peaceful silence.

"(y/n), why do you still stick by me?" You gently screwed a bolt back into his neck, as you thought of an answer.

He placed his hand on your back to steady you, and you looked into his eyes. His normally intense features were soft. His golden eyes stood out in the fading light.

"Maybe it's a sense of duty," You mused. "Or maybe it's because I care about you."

You smiled sweetly at him and kissed him on the cheek.

Genos smiled a bit in the corner of your eye. He felt a sudden rush of affection as he remembered all the times you worked tirelessly to put him back together.

"Thank you."

You laughed quietly and hugged him.

"Anything for you."
