Maddies Pov

todays the day i finally get to leave this hell hole and start a new life.

im finally 18 today so i finally get to run away without anyone stoping me. i hope i can find my mate ive been searching for a yaer now with no luck.

"MADDIE!!!" Derek (Maddie's alpha) yelled from my door.

"Yes alpha" I replied without looking up.

"Happy 18th birthday" he said with an evil smile on his face.

"Than......." Was all I could say before he punched me in the face.

"You see MADDIE that's what I love about birthdays you can hit the person with out any questions asked," he paused and laughted "I can do that anyways, I m the alpha and no one would dare chanllenge me," he paused to take a breath "don't think your getting a party or anything for your birthday, who would want to celebrate the birth of a complete mistake, your the reason your parents, my old beta and his wife are dead," he stopped to stare at me. I was laying on the floor holding my face.

"I....it w....wasn't mm my fault" I managed to stutter out.

Derek looked down at me with anger and disbelief in his eyes.

"You dare to challenge me, you dare to call me a liar" he snapped

"No it's just that I....." I stumbled for words while Derek bent down to get eye level with me

"You..... you WHAT!, you just happen to think that you can talk to me any way that you wish, pfff don't think that's just because you are a she wolf that I won't kill you." With that he stood upand started to walk out.

"No you won't because you don't have the balls to do it!" I yelled while getting to my feet

Derek turned around, that was the first time I had ever stood up to him, I felt good to finally get my word out. Derek had always threatened to kill me but the worst he has ever done is hit me and he had broke my arm and two of my ribs but never anything worse.

I mostly got my worst beating from the rest of the pack. Derek walked up to me and starred down at me I stood my ground by looking up to hi I wasn't short but I wasn't as tall as he was, for some reason I had so much courage today.

A loud growl excaped Derek's chest with that he had me slammed me against the wall while holding me up by my throat. I grabbed his throat in hope that I could get him off of me, he grabbed my arm and squeezed it. He bent my arm above my head and I heard a crack i knew that he had broken something in my arm he let go of me and stepped back I fell to the floor I looked at my arm and it was already turning blue and it hurt when I touched it.

I thought he was leaving but he turned around and kicked me in the ribs. I screamed out in pain, "Now don't ever talk to me like that again" Derek said while walking out of my room and slamming the door.
