Infinity Zone

Chapter 1:Arrival

Caitlin felt she's dead inside. As an ordinary sixteen year old high school student, she is just like most of the students in her school. She's not beautiful, at least not enough to make her life different from her friends. She's not a genius in learning, nor is her a member of some club. Her friends were all female, and weren't especially close. She's just a normal human being. A human being with no purpose.

In spare time, Caitlin used movies and TV shows to temporarily bring her away from the cruelty of life. She liked to watch action and sci-fi movies, fascinating about working, living, between the small gap of life and death. She envied being female superheroes, whether it's Black Canary, Supergirl, or Cat woman. But in the end of the day, she's still Caitlin Shaw, the normal, blonde, girl who no one cares about. Her life is destined to go down in a certain way. She will graduate high school, go to some college, graduate, find a job, and live out her life in an endless routine. When she dies, no one will remember her. She would be no more than a name on a tomb stone.

"Die as a warrior or live as a civilian? " One day in school, Caitlin found this note on her table. This is certainly some attempt for a bad joke. Caitlin looked around for anyone who might be looking at her reactions and found no suspects. She was about to throw the paper away when a strange feeling suddenly came over her. Just this one time. Caitlin thought as she rested her hand on the first part, deep in thought not even expecting something to happen. Suddenly, she saw a red blur, and went unconscious.

Burning sensation, Endless, darkness... If there's a hell, than she must be in it.

Caitlin stood up the second she regained conscious. The burning feeling she had disappeared. She looked around, frightened. The surrounding was very different from where she was in seconds ago. It was dark and cold outside.

"The recruits this time are weaker than last time." A cold voice sounded from beside.

"It's not going to matter." Another voice came, as cold as the first. "I wasn't planning on relying on them anyways."

Caitlin turned and found two people behind her. The first was a man with dark hair and an ordinary look. However, a scar ran through his left eye, making him a lot more intimidating. The second person was a woman with blonde hair. Both of them wore dark had an emotionless look on their face.

"Who are you?" Caitlin asked, scared, "Where am I? Where is this place?" This moment, she wants nothing other than home. The boring surrounding seems so comforting to her.

The man and woman ignored her after giving her a look with a vicious meaning. It was as if they were looking at a dead girl, and don't want to waste time doing something that will not matter. Caitlin bit her lips, she doesn't like how they treated her, but there's nothing she can do. Throughout her life, she was never a fighter. A small bruise can make her eyes water.

Suddenly, she noticed something wrong in her head. It's as if she knew something she didn't before. It's as if some memory was inserted into her head by force. After a few seconds, she located the inserted memory, and she knew what she got herself into.

This is a training program called Infinity Zone. No one knew who created it, but it must be someone very powerful. In this program, men and women who have a heart of a warrior are selected and put into different scenarios. Some of them will die in the scenarios, others will be executed for not completing the missions, but the rest will survive. Those who do survive will become enhanced and powerful, and will serve as soldiers of the creator.

Another thing Caitlin noticed was a control panel in her brain. She mentally reached for it, and the panel appeared before her eyes. Subconsciously, she moved her hand to touch it, but her hand went directly through. Embarrassed, she moved her hand back and studied the panel.
