Solomon's Challenge Book 1: Zerek the King

Introduction

Thousands of years ago there stood a chamber atop a mountain that blurred the lines between our world, and that of the dragons. In this chamber there stood a long oval shaped table with eight seats, three on each side and one on each end. This chamber was known as the draconic chamber, a massive white room in which the eight mighty dragons met to discuss the great war that was occurring. 

The war was one that would decide who would be allowed to rule the earth; those who wanted rule by means of power, or those who wanted law by means of equality. The dragons were meant to be aligned with those who aimed for law in order to create a peaceful earth, and thus would plan ways to help the army of peace in any way they could in the draconic chamber.

One day, the chamber was attacked during the time when the eight dragons met by the army of power, as the dragons help was beginning to turn the war against them. However the dragons were used to being attacked by the peace hating army, and were easily taking the attacks with little effect. That is, they were taking the attacks until demons joined the army and began to threaten the dragons' safety.

Among the eight dragons, there was only one who had the power to summon demons, and the other's knew they had been betrayed. One of the eight attacked the evil dragon, but was swiftly killed, as the evil dragon had unlimited power. One by one, the evil dragon killed every one of his former allies. All but their leader. Their leader knew he was nothing without the other dragons, and before he could be killed by the evil dragon, he traded his life in order to place a curse on the traitor, a curse that locked the evil dragon away and removed his power until he could kill every single descendant of the other mighty dragons. By trading his life, and cursing the evil dragon, the dragon leader had removed the last of the dragons who were holding the draconic chamber in the human world. It disappeared into the dragon world, and was slowly forgotten, written off as an old tale of myth.

Thousands of years later, the evil dragon has regained enough power through killing the descendants to raise a demon army. Now he has begun his quest to kill the last of the dragon descendants, and he will not let anybody get in his way.

Wow it feels good to get back into writing this! I was planning to have chapter one out today but I ran out of time because I slacked off, so chapter one will be out next sunday! I hope you enjoyed the intro. It may seem a little short because it isn't really a chapter, but it is actually the longest intro I've written by about 30 words (130 if you include the authors note).

Anyways, this week I won't slack off, and you will get chapter one on sunday, which will be at the very least 2000+ words (the old chapters were rarely over 1300).
