you sat at the register of your job at a record store in Los Angeles, flipping through a catalog of albums to order. you checked off a few of them to order as you went through.
you leaned back in your chair, now flipping through the latest issue of Burrn! magazine that you sold, which was sitting by the register.
you began to read an article when you heard the door open, a customer walking in.
you glanced up and gave them a quick smile, being polite. you quickly went back to your magazine, thinking nothing of it.
he went to glance at the records you have, occasionally looking back at you once in a while.
about 10 minutes went by, then the same customer whom you saw walk in earlier walked up to the counter.
"is this album any good?" he asked, as he set down Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers self-titled album on the counter.
you closed the magazine, setting it down. you looked up to see a man that had to have been over six feet tall, with long blonde hair. he was dressed in black jeans, a black t shirt, & a light blue jean jacket.
you got up out of your chair, approaching him. you grabbed the album from the counter & gave it a look.
"I think it's good. I really like how is fast paced & the guitar is pretty good." you said.
you flipped the album over to show the track list.
"my favorite songs are mystery man & American girl." you said as you started to point at the songs, him watching you as you did.
you looked up at him, admiring his blue eyes & blonde hair, the way he seemed to be so effortlessly good-looking. he looked kind of familiar, you have definitely seen him somewhere before.
"Alright. I'll try it, see if I like it." he said. You grabbed the album, putting it in a bag, glancing up at him as you set it on the counter. He quickly caught on.
"What?" he asked, kind of confused.
"Nothing, it's just you look so familiar. Where have I seen you before?" you said to him.
"You ever hear of the band Ratt?" he asked you, grabbing the bag off the counter. "I'm Robbin Crosby, one of the guitar players." he then added.
"Yeah, that's what I know you from." you started. "I don't normally see celebrities come in here." you later added, with sort of a laugh.
"Well you seem to know what your talking about, music wise." Robbin said.
"Really? you think?" you asked him, kind of surprised.
"yeah, i mean, you convinced me to buy an album that i probably would never pick out myself." he said as he smiled at you. "I like that."
you couldn't help but blush at his response. never would you have thought that this would be happening. you thought, "he must have about a thousand girls all over him, falling for his every move, and he likes me? this is crazy."
"Listen, i gotta get going. I have a meeting to get to." he said suddenly.
"oh, okay." you said, feeling anxious of what he was going to say next.
"why don't you give me your number? you know, so we can talk more, and i can get to know you." he said.
"yeah, of course." you said, smiling. you grabbed a notepad that was on the counter and wrote your name & number down, then tearing off the sheet and handed it to him.
he grabbed it from you, glancing at it before shoving it in the pocket of his jean jacket.
"thanks, y/n, I'll call you." he said before starting to walk away.
he left & you sat back down, already anxious for his call.
