There's a darkness coming to consume the world. A darkness that means death for many, and endless power for some. The only way to destroy it is with a rare ingredient, one that's out of this world. But this rare ingredient can do much more than destroy it. It can harvest it as power. It can hold the darkness and create a world that is subject to only one. Only a few know about this darkness. Vivora, the most advance research company, has found it. Six researchers went out to the odd mass seen in space. Only one came back. With a taste of this dark power, this lone survivor thirsts for more. He sets out on a plan to bring this darkness into Earth's atmosphere. Nearly six years later and a signal is picked up on. It's foreign, but immediately intrigues a familiar researcher. The signal is translated. It's a warning and a request. A request to land and negotiate an alliance. The request is accepted. A ship discreetly arrives at a secure research base and a discussion is started. These foreigners claim they have a way to defeat the darkness, but that it must be handled delicately. If not, the darkness could be consumed by this secret weapon. The researcher with a taste of the darkness is intrigued, and immediately knows of a plan that will satisfy what he's been thirsting for all these years. With the help of the darkness that was given to him, he murders all that stood in his way and captures the secret weapon, but only to find out it is not a weapon. It's a girl. An alien girl. She's the one who holds the power to both oppose and manifest the darkness. Without the proper tools to analyze this extraterrestrial being, he forces himself to take her to the Vivora headquarters, located in the heart of the city. There he convinces that this woman holds the key that will end what would ultimately be their doom. Really, though, he plans on using their tools to discover what about her makes her able to hold such power. A week later and the girl manages to escape. There's a masked man who breaks into Vivora, a former soldier stationed at the secured research plant in which the foreigners arrived, where the meeting was held, and where many died just so Jane could be taken captive. He gets her out without question, retreating to the only place he can think to go. That's where Mary comes in. Her father was on that ship six years ago that went into space, and she also attended training with Jack and John after secondary school. She's the only one he can think that will know what to do with this...alien and the power she supposedly holds. Jack is the most skilled hacker known to date. He was kicked out of training (whom ever plays the man can decide why), and now spends his time hacking into savings bonds and stocks. He's a drunk and a boisterous man, and actually used to date Mary back in their training days. They were far too different though, and had a nasty break up after Mary lost her father. Still, they come to the realization that they need Jack and his skills in order to defeat this supposed darkness.
