It was so peaceful.

The rain was pattering down on the clear window as I looked down onto the busy streets of New York.

I smiled to myself, rolling on to my back.

I let out a happy sigh.

Moments later, I stood up and padded over to my small kitchen.

I glanced up at my modern clock resting on the wall.

6 pm

I opened the fridge and let out a loud groan.

There was a bottle of milk, two yogurts and a pack of water bottles.

I remembered that I had told myself to go shopping yesterday. Obviously I never got round to it.

It's not that I was busy, but I'm not lazy either. I just couldn't be bothered. You know?

I thought about ordering pizza, deciding against it almost immediately. I had gotten pizza way to much.

I huffed and plodded over to my couch, where I lay down fiercely.

I scowled at my boring, cream coloured ceiling.

But then I instantly relaxed as the rain splattered onto to my large window.

My appartment didn't have a balcony, but I didn't care because in my opinion, a huge glass window that looked down on the streets below was much better.

My place was small. The living room and kitchen weren't separated, and then there was my bedroom. The entrance to my bathroom was across from the kitchen.

I loved my place.

The block that I stayed in was under ten stories high. I was at the very top.

I guess this was a reason I didn't go out much.

I had a small job, in a local coffee shop. It was small, and I got to know my customers quite well.

Sarah, my best friend worked there aswell. We basically worked there at the same time- apart from Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, where a guy named Dylan worked.

He was very moody, although he mostly showed this on his facial expressions and body language.

He hardly ever talked. Usually he would say a gruff:

"What'd you want?"

To the customers, who would step back and tell them they're order reluctantly.

I snorted at the thought of his scowling black, beady eyes, and his snarling mouth.

I sighed again as I realised I did actually have to go shopping.

It was nearly seven when I grabbed a very worn looking basket, and headed into the store. The rain had lessened, and was slowly dripping out of the grey skies.

The store was a fifteen minute walk from my apartment. I had stalled getting ready, and decided to leave my messy, light brown hair in its natural state and it fell around my shoulders in waves. My make up was minimal. I had some on from this morning and all I had done was touch up the lip gloss.

I pulled my wolly scarf tighter around my neck as I headed into the frozen food section.

I checked my phone quickly as I headed towards the queue to pay.

7:37 pm

I nodded to myself and loaded up the conveyor belt.

I noticed in front of me there where three boys, around my age and they where just about to pay for their stuff, when one of them glanced at me.

To say he was good looking would be an understatement.

He flashed me a cheeky grin, dimples accompaning, and I found myself grinning back.

He instantly turned round though, as one of his friends had finished paying and they all grabbed a shopping bag or two.

I smiled soflty at their relationships with each other. I could tell they were pretty close.

As soon as I got back home I ripped off my soggy clothes. Just my luck that it had decided to bucket down rain on me as I hurried home.

I made myself some pasta and a large glass of water, and sat down on my sofa.

I flicked on the TV and decided on catching up on Shadow Hunters- which can I just say is an amazing show.

I climbed into my soft, white sheets very late at night. The sky was a dark grey/blue, with stars twinkling in the moonlight. I had ended up binge watching a bunch of TV series on Netflix, and decided to eat up the two yogurts that where actually out of date, and that was the reason I avoided eating them.

Unfortunately I didn't realise until I was half way through the second one and I realised that the reason it probably tasted funny was not that someone had injected it with a special potion that would make me become invisible, but that it was out of date. Sure enough, when I checked the label it said:

Best before 28.08.17

It was meant to be eaten a week ago.

I still felt weird even after chugging two bottles of water and a red bull can.

My eyes started to close, and I fell into a blissful sleep as i listened to the rain faintly pattering on the window to my left.
