WELCOME TO THE BLOCK
Light shining on my eyelids pull me from my seemingly deep sleep, rolling over in an attempt to return to my sleep I feel the strange texture of warm sand against my skin lulling me back to sleep. The realization hits me and sends me to my feet as I look around, startled to see I was on a beach next to a forest.
"No no no no no... How did I get here? Where am I? Who am I?" I felt my breath shorten as I panicked, spinning around to try and find my answers. "Stop panicking and breathe. Come on."
Taking a steadying breath I looked around again for any possible clue as to how I got here and who I am- was? Before I could dig into that thought process I noticed a bag on the ground, right next to where I woke up.
I glanced around cautiously as I walked up and picked it up, it had a little bit of weight to it but not much. I opened it to reveal a crumpled paper, some sort of strange tool, another paper this one neatly folded, and three red fruit.
I pulled out the two papers, one was a drawing of a patch of land, a couple of strange shapes covered the landmass, my eyes trailed to a small patch of white next to seemingly water and forest.
The longer I looked at the paper trying to understand it started to make my head hurt so I refolded it and uncrumpled the other page.
'I don't have long. Your name is Harmony Indigo, a high ranking soldier in the war for the cause. No-one will remember where they came from so watch your back. I'll return soon enough to help you but for now, it rests on you. -N'
"This isn't good..." I quickly put the papers back into the bag and pull out the strange tool before slinging the bag over my shoulder and started walking into the trees. I collected sticks as I walked, hoping to set up some sort of fire or shelter.
Bugs littered the earth that I walked on, gray and black small creatures ran around collecting them. Brown fluffy-tailed creatures jumped between the trees as I walked under them.
My ears flicked as I heard a strange noise from my left, a group of three large brown creatures stood, one with sticks coming out of its head. The three watched me fearlessly as I wandered by, not caring for my presence which encouraged me to move on.
I eventually reach a small clearing in the forest, a small pond resides on the leftmost side along with a small puddle of milky white liquid. A couple of trees with fruit hanging from the branches litter the outskirts of the clearing. A gaping cave is opened in the earth by the side of the towering mountain.
Walking up to it I look into the dark depths of its walls, I step away from it as terror rips away at my mind. I decided to set up a small fire as the sun was starting to get low.
Brown and gray creatures grazed around the pond as I worked, showing no fear at all as they wandered closer to me. I took the strange tool and approached the things cautiously. Watching for any sign of wary-ness, they completely ignored my presence though.
I pet them a bit and a couple seemed to enjoy being scratched. Their wool coating was matted and hard to the touch, I used the tool to shave off as much as I could, as I was doing this it seemed to enjoy it and seemed much happier when I finished.
The sheared wool was too thick and matted to be of much use, but I set it in a pile a little bit away from my fire, it could come in handy in the future. The creatures now grazed happily and a couple laid down near me when I settled for the night.
I couldn't see the sun setting from my spot, but I watched the sky slowly darken as I felt exhaustion pulling me further and further under, I fell asleep surrounded by the shaved creatures in the warmth of a dying fire.
