Marley' POV
"Dargin!" I yell down the staircase as he does god knows what in the kitchen.
"Whaaa?!" He calls back.
"Who paid the electric last?" I question resorting to walking downstairs and into the kitchen.
He stands behind the counter filling his coffee mug for about the fourth time today. He says he's not addicted to Coffee, that he just likes the taste but that sounds like lies considering Coffee is horrific.
"I think it was Daniel," He shrugs looking at his coffee cup unaware of my presence.
"Who's after him cause that box from hell is bleepin' again," I ask him hoping the twenty quid of electric will come out of his bank account as apposed to mine.
"You are," He smirks and I groan angrily in reply.
"I'll get it but could you get all that shit out of the living room while I'm out?" I ask him even though I'm actually demanding this off him.
"Fine," He breathes annoyedly.
Turning and walking up the staircase I add to his list.
"Clean under the table too," I tell him.
"Who do you think you are?" He questions me.
"God, now clean up that filth you fucking peasant," I grin to myself as I reach the top of the stairs.
Dargin and Daniel are my roommates. Daniel is actually my brother but he's almost never here. He's usually away with work or chasing unobtainable birds on Tinder. Dargin is like a brother to me too though, he's a funny guy, he has a strong charisma about him and it often lightens my traditionally terrible mood. He's a tall lanky guy, he's got little skinny legs and a strongly built upper body and arms. I often make fun of him telling him he looks like a Mexican which is true, he looks like he belongs under a sombrero holding maracas. He has no connection to the Latin origin as he's from this country Northern Ireland which just makes his tan complexion all the more bewildering.
Daniel is about two inches taller than myself and that's pretty short for a guy considering I myself an eight-teen year old girl stands at 5'8". He has short blonde hair that he often styles with gel, actually retract that. ALWAYS styles with gel, that's what holds me back if I'm doing something with him... The hair. He has an even built unlike Dargin and he's another culprit who pokes at Dargin over his "Chicken legs".
In case you're wondering why me a teenage girl is living with her brother and his mate let me enlighten you. My mum is for lack of a better word insane and doesn't agree with my way off life and by way of life I mean my sexuality. Yeah... I'm gay. I don't care that I am and neither does my Dad, Dargin or Daniel they're all fine about it, it hasn't changed their views on me at all and I couldn't be more thankful for that. My mum however... She hates me for it. My Dad has wanted to divorce her for a long time but has been halted by the settlement it will come to. They'll get half each and that's unfair considering it's all my Dad's money. My parents are very well off and that's what's caused this divide in the family, if you can actually call it a family, it's more like a business deal. My Mum married my Dad as an investment, she didn't love him, she had millions of reasons to marry him and they were all sitting in his Ulster Bank account.
Thanks to my family problems I'm a year behind on my academics and I have to go to night school now that I've finally completed my GCSE's. I didn't have enough GCSE's to be able to do a worthwhile set of A-Level's. At the night school I'm studying media which is one of the only subjects I ever enjoyed in my school years.
I had a rough upbringing despite my well off family. I never got physically abused but I did suffer my fair share of mental which in my opinion is worse than the earlier.
My Dad and brother have always assured me that the things my Mum would say to me were all lies but they've always niggled at the back of my mind, tearing down any confidence I've ever managed to build myself. I put up a guard of character and fake confidence in order to have some sort of an enjoyable social life.
I haven't got many friends and none no the extent of my troubles, they probably have their suspicions but I don't plan on making them realities unless it's necessary. They know that I'm not straight and they couldn't care less either which is refreshing for me, gives me less to hide.
I only have one close friend and I don't even trust them fully, I have a very very solid guard against anything that could cause me any sort of pain. I've had enough of it already.
Climbing the stairs to the upper level of the house I go into my bedroom and stand in the doorway observing the cleaning I'll have to do when I get home. My bedroom is of reasonable size with soft blue walls a white ceiling and a hard wood floor. To your left when you walk in is a wall and to your right is a white ikea desk running along the wall horizontally. Where the desk ends the other wall starts, in the centre of that wall is a window overlooking fields and a view of Scrabo tower in Ards. Just after the window is a black chest of drawers with a lamp shoved in the corner of it. Then after the chest of drawers, yeah you guessed it another wall starts, along this wall is the head of my bed, a soft and comfortable double bed with white sheets and blue pillows. I love my bed. Too much in fact. I'd probably marry it if it was legal but unfortunately it's not.
There you go guys, that's my life pretty much summed up. You'll find out more about it in the coming paragraphs, some will be funny, some will be sad but I'd appreciate if you'd hear me out the whole way through, I'd like to think of the story of my life as interesting so don't close the book and throw it aside just yet.
There's more to come.
