Planet X

15 years later

Day 30

A glimpse, that's all I got. That's all I ever got to be exact. I never get to look at anything for too long because I wasn't allowed to go outside. I wasn't even supposed to exist. Not in this world, I wasn't. As I tried to peer out of the small hole in my wall all I could see was a dry, dusty, broken world, nothing more than orange rock.

I quickly jump up, run to my computer, sit down and my door slides open.

"Hey its dinner you better come join us" Nixe says and walks away.

I walk out of my room, through the corridor and make my way to the square. The tables are lined up each with buffet style meals. Each table has about 20 people. Like always people wearing the same old gray jumpsuit, including myself.

I walk to the nearest table and grab a plate, food and leave. As I head back I see Yourio, the head master staring at me as if I am some mystical beast.

"Mr. Kuntiki, where could you possibly be heading with a heaping plate of food?"

"To my room, sir."

"If you were anyone else I would make you turn around but, because of your rare condition I will let this slide. You understand me Mr.Kuntiki?"

"Yes Sir and thank you"

Yourio walks off with a smug face as if he such a great person for letting a 15 year old with congenital insensitivity go back to their room. Like, wow what a hero. To me Yourio is like Donald Trump, only one thousand five hundred years later. Meaning he is a complete idiot but yet he is in charge of this dying planet.

I get back to my room and plop down onto my bed as I sit down I hear voices coming from outside of my room.

"Don't you think it's time?"

"No we can't tell him. Not now, maybe not ever."

"Why not tell him? He is dying, he deserves to know. We can't hide this from him forever."

"What's stopping us from hiding this from him?"

"Me."

Right after that I hear the sound of clicking shoes slowly fading away.

I would assume that they were talking about me but it doesn't add up because I'm not dying. What I have isn't killing me, if anything it makes me stronger because I can't feel pain.

I've never felt pain.

I never will feel pain.

I know it would sound selfish but I've been hoping that there would be one other person in this place that can understand what I am going through and understand what it's like living this inhuman way of life.

But if it is me that they are talking about then I guess nothing's changed, expect now I'm dying. Many people fear the idea of death but I'm just one of those people who have accepted my fate. As sad and depressing it may sound it's the sad, honest and bare truth.

I take a spoonful of my hot mash potatoes and stuff it in my mouth. I kept eating and sooner than later I finished my meal. I was too tried to stay up any longer. I looked over to the small clock on the wall which read 10:00PM.

I go to my bed, lie down and close my eyes, I close my eyes I think about the blackness that appears when I close my eyes and I slowly fade into a deep sleep.

7 AM

*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP*

I look over at my alarm clock and it was way too early for me to willing get out of my warm bed. I sit up and look over at my screen; I look at my background, a picture of my parents. I don't know too much about them but I do know they left something for me, on earth. I was told my mother was kind, warm hearted and enjoyed reading. I wasn't told too much about my father just that he was very good at trades and when he wasn't busy with trades, he played the piano in his spare time. But this was all before the war, before they came and took everything away from us.
