Chapter 2- Goodbye Haru

                                                                                  Haru's POV

Haru ran as fast as she was able to. She just saw her brother get caught by the palace guards and now she is on her own. The sun was setting and Haru was still terrified of what happened to Jack.

Jack, I hope you're okay, please...try to escape and find me. She was able to feel tears come to her eyes as she thought of what might happen to him.

The streets were empty now that the day was ending. Haru was by herself, with nowhere to go. She stopped running, and gasped for breath. Until she looked up, and saw a river.

The Thames River. It flows into the North Sea. Haru's heart was beating faster than usual because of only one memory. She remembered a few years ago, when her best friend died. Tamara drowned in the same river, only to try to get away from the villagers. They called her a demon for hanging out with the vampire siblings. So, she couldn't swim and died. Haru never got to say goodbye, or even to see her after that. She was too afraid of what Tamara's face might have looked like.

Haru walked up to the river, and fell to her knees.

"Brother, why did you have to get caught. I can't fend for myself. Please escape and come back to me!" Haru sobbed. "Please, come and save me from the darkness." Haru was also afraid of the dark. She never really liked to be alone when the moon was up. She was worried that the villagers would kill her or that wolves would come. Of course, werewolves are across the ocean, but she doesn't believe that.

Once Haru's tears stopped dripping down her face, she watched the river flow steadily across the gravel as the moonlight shined of it. It was a beautiful scene, and she couldn't help but think of all the fun she has had in her life. Yeah, she is an orphan, and she can be a little baby for a vampire, but deep down inside, she just wanted to be human. Both of her parents were vampires, and Haru was the only one that had regular blue eyes, and brown hair. Jack has silver-gold eyes, with blond hair. Haru didn't look anything like her family. She felt left out.

"Dear mum..." Haru was writing a note to her dead mother, saying everything aloud. She just spoke to the river, but to her, she knew her mom could hear her.

"Will you forgive me, for all I have done? I want to join you where ever you are. Please, show me a sign that you want to see me too." Haru started humming in a low tone. She hummed the same melody that her mother used to sing to her. But, something hit her, literally. She went silent, and fell down into the river. She tried to breathe, but her lungs refused. She felt her heart get slower and slower. Then, it stopped.

                                                                                       Jack's POV

The sun beamed through Jack's bedroom window straight into his eyes. He tried to cover his face with the blankets, but he was already awake. For a vampire, they only take cat naps. So, Jack and his family only sleep for about two hours, then they're fully awake for the remaining hours.

"Good morning!" Hope sang. Jack groaned, and tried to stay under the covers. Hope pulled them off, and he groaned even more. "C'mon sleepy head, time to start work, let's go feed the animals!" Hope sat next to him as he tried to ignore her, but nothing worked.

"Alright, I'm up." Jack sat up, and stretched.

"Can I ask you something?" Hope wondered.

"What?" Jack didn't really want to know the question.
