Him. There he is. Just standing there. Not even thinking about looking over at me. Too busy with his girlfriend. To be more specific, His girlfriend/ my former best friend. Yeah! Thats right! My best friend stole him right out from under me. I knew she would someday but i just didnt think about it until now. Until the moment when i saw him kissing her. When I saw Billy Unger kissing MY best friend. Sorry. FORMER best friend. All I wanted right now was for him to look me in the eyes with his perfect golden brown eyes. He was so perfect. Anna was still trying to apologize to me but it wouldnt work. I was to hurt. The damage was done. ''Listen! Im sorry, Nikki! I just love him and-'' i always cut her off by saying ''Hold your breath, Anna. I really dont wanna hear it. Save your energy for playing mushy face with him.'' I gestured towards Billy who was just leaning against the lockers waiting for something to happen. I walked past him as my long, brown hair flew behind me. ''Hey.'' he said as I walked by him. I stopped in my tracks thinking that i could make something of this by saying ''Oh hey to you to! im your girlfriend's former best friend that she never told you about! Oh and by the way, im in love with you! Have a nice day!'' i hesitated and wiped the thought from my mind and kept walking. Yet i could still fell a pair of eyes burning through me. I turned around to see Mr. William Brent Unger staring right at me. ''You have a girlfriend you pig. Eyes off.'' I mumbled under my breath as I walked to math class. Thank God he didnt hear me or id loose my chance with him.
It was the beginning of the year and we were getting new lab partners in science. yay!!!! Our science teacher was pairing people up and sitting them down at tables when soon it was just four people left, and two open tables. It was me, Linda, Billy, and Anna. ''Anna, you will be paired up with.............'' our science teacher thought for a bit ''Linda. Then that leaves Billy and Nikki to go sit at table number seven.'' My heart skipped a beat and i could feel my face turn red. I sat down next to Billy as he said ''hey'' to me again and continued to stare at me once i looked away. i took out my phone and texted Anna when the teacher wasnt looking. ''Look to your left. Billy's face turned red as he turned to look at me and continued to look at me until lunch. I saw Anna and gave her the biggest hug in the world. we apologized to each other and ate lunch. Billy sat on the other half of the lunch table. And there he was. Staring at me with those perfect eyes. ''Mr.Pig strikes again! oink oink!'' i joke to anna. she giggles and we talk about our summers. When i got home i got a text from Mr. Piggy himself ''Hey beautiful.'' i blushed and texted back ''Soooooooo......... How long have you liked me?'' ''since i first saw you'' '' and when would that be mr. piggy" ''this morning >:) 4:00 in the morning to be exact. Ever notice who lived next door?the ones who's bedroom window was right across from yours?Look out your window''
My stomach twisted into knots when i saw Billy waving from outside his window with a sign that said '' I LOVE YOU NIKKI''
''i actually saw you at 4:00 in the morning on this day NINE YEARS AGO. when you moved here. Sure we were only 8 years old but you know, your never too young or too old to love''
his texts didnt exactly scare me, but made me realize everything that had happened to me in the past 9 years. The boy at the beach that i saw EVERY YEAR since i had moved here. I payed more attention and saw that it was Billy. He loved me all this time and used Anna to get to me. I sent Anna the whole conversation and a picture of billy with the sign, AND my theory on why Billy dated her.
she was shocked but said that she didnt care and that i could date him. I loved that Anna always understood me perfectly. She was the BEST best friend EVER! I told Billy that i would date him and he said to meet him in my backyard. I put on some shorts and a cute top and met Billy. When i got out side, those beautifully perfect eyes were dead set on me again as if he was staring right into me. as soon as he was two steps away from me, he pulled me closer to him and hugged me for what seemed like forever. the sun started to set. I grabbed Billy's hand and we sat on the side of my pool with our feet dangling in. The concrete was nice and warm but we still laid a towel down. We intertwined our hands and watched the sun fall beneath the horizon in a party of pinks, purples, blues, and oranges. When the stars finally rose out form the darkness, we lie perfectly still in the grass as we try to count the stars but end up getting lost in their beauty. Billy turned his head and looked into my eyes as if he were trying to read my thoughts.

After about a month of dating, Billy and I decided to come to go out by my pool for our ''One Month Anniversary'' Billy got me a jewelry set. There was a neckless, earrings, a bangle, and a ring. they were all silver. The neckless had six charms on it, a star, a moon, a charm that said my name, a charm that said billy, The exact day we started dating, and a silver heart that said ''I Love You''. The earrings were silver stars. The ring had and overlapping star and moon on it. the bangle said ''1 Thing 2 Do, 3 Words 4 You, I Love You'' But there was one more thing that was hidden in the box. It was a promise ring. It had an infinity sign ingraved onto it. Billy held up his hand which revealed a matching ring. The rings also said ''I will love you for Infinity. I gave him a leather bracelet that said ''N+B I ❤️ You''
We looked up at the setting sun. Billy hugged me and pulled me closer to him. He wrapped his arm around me and kissed me. It was perfect. Everything that happened was perfect on that night.
The next day in school, Billy and I wore our gifts and happily held hands as we walked into school. our obnoxious and annoying principle walked up to us and said ''Its school not a couples only dance!'' she yelled. ''Were just holding hands! Its not like were having a full out make out session!'' i replied sassily. ''unless you want us to.'' Billy added in ''Watch it princess! This aint your school! i can drops all of your A's down to F's in five seconds flat!''
