There's gonna be a moment in your life where you just know that you're done for. This is it, the end. Now, it may not be the situation I'm in, but maybe something like failing a very important test and revealing it to your parents, or getting into some kind of illegal activity that lands you into the Big House. Something.
Of course, I would love to be in one of those situations, compared to my situation. Let's just say... it's not pretty.
There I was, hiding in a small cupboard from a dark monster with red eyes, approximately the size of a small elephant. It had sharp teeth, stained with the blood of my mother, father, and little sister, some of the blood dripping from its gaping mouth onto its black, dirty fur. If you could call it fur. It was more like sharp spines, similar to that of a porcupine's.
I was terrified, tears streaming down my face, but I couldn't make a sound. God knows how well its hearing really was, but I didn't want to take any chances. I was barely breathing. My shaking hand felt behind me for something, anything that I could use to defend myself. I didn't really expect to find anything, but what could I do? I was scared out my mind. But, as if by sheer luck, I felt something. Feeling around the small object with my hands, I tried to tell what it was. Could it be? A gun?
But it was, I could tell perfectly what it was. I wasn't sure if it would kill it, but I knew for certain that I could stop it for a second until I found my way out of the house.
Slowly but surely, I opened up the cupboard, dreading the smell of rotting flesh that hit me in the face like a brick wall. Apparently, its saliva was corrosive to living things. I resisted the urge to gag and vomit. I continued to open up the cupboard, but as most people know, door hinges are pretty much meant to make a loud squeaking noise when you're trying to be sneaky. I gasped as the loud noise exploded into the air, hoping that the creature hadn't heard it. But alas, it did.
I saw it running straight towards me, its giant mouth open and its red eyes glaring at me, just wanting me to die already. I was a cockroach to it. I panicked. I dropped the gun as I proceeded to scream in terror, waiting for my untimely demise. But, as if by magic, it just disappeared.
A deep sigh could be heard somewhere next to me. I climbed out of the cupboard to investigate. I jumped when I saw a small boy, maybe 13 years old, with his arms crossed and his foot tapping as if he didn't just see me about to be devoured alive.
"What the hell was that?" he said angrily.
