Villian Con!

Scarlet lay in her bed restless she had not slept all night wondering if the letter she had been waiting for years now would finally come on in post, she had heard rumours that she was going to be considered for a place at villain con this year. This was all she had ever dreamed of since she was a little girl. Her work was now becoming very well known and being the first female super villain certainly had its perks.

The post man usually arrived around 9am each morning which herb usually attends to but this time scarlet wanted to make sure that she was the one who was there to collect the mail.
Scarlet heard faint sound of the mailbox closing then shot out of bed to get the mail. She ran out of the bedroom, through the hallway and down the stairs past the kitchen and out the front door and to the letter box. Scarlet stood there for a few seconds, not moving at all trying to control her thoughts and bracing herself for disappointment. She slowly lifted up the handle of the letterbox and reached her hand in to collect the stack of mail which lay inside, grabbing it she ran back into the house and laid the mail along the kitchen worktop scanning for a villain con logo, Just When she was about to give up hope she saw it in the corner of her eye a large envelope which had landed on the floor, she quickly bent down and picked it up. Scarlet took a sharp breath and exhaled slowly opening the letter she could see the small print at the top with the date and her address, she took the letter fully out of the envelope and unfolded the white sheet of paper and began to read...

" Dear Mrs Overkill
We are delighted to announce to you that you will have a place at this years villain con. Thanks to your great work in the villain industry we would like to offer you a full show dedicated to you and your work for the interest of your fans. This may also act as a recruitment session or partnership. Your badge can be found in the envelope you have just received this will ensure you get into the building and will also give you access to all areas including members only.
We can't wait to see you in Florida, stay evil.

Scarlet read through twice before it sank in. As soon as her thoughts had all gathered she turned round and sprinted up the three flights of stairs to the lab.
" Herb! Baby!" She called bouncing into the room.
She looked around but couldn't see him the lab was dim and nothing had been turned on, she was about to leave when suddenly something grabbed her from behind and span round with her.
"Herb put me down" she said giggling.
" Hey baby" he said turning her round and kissing her
" herbie guess what!" She said still grinning
" what?"
" read this letter..." she said shoving the now crumpled sheet of paper into his large hands.
Herb stared at the sheet in concentration it's almost like she could see the cogs in his head turning.
He read it over and over again getting more exited the more he read.
" oh my god baby! Congrats" he said twirling her round into a hug.
Scarlett smiled and looked into his big green eyes, herb smiled sweetly back.
" when do you leave then?" Herb asks taking a step back to look at his wife fully.
" tomorrow morning" she said excitedly whist jumping around.
" wow tomorrow..." herb looked shocked.
" do you want some coffee honey" Scarlet asks as she starts to walk out the door and down the stairs.
" I'll get it babe, I'll be down in a minuet"
Scarlet walks down the stairs and herb if left standing in the dark this is the first time in years scarlet has ever been away from him, they were a team they went everywhere together. Although it was just for a day in herbs mind it felt like a thousand sleepless nights with no coffee.

Herb walks down the stairs and into the kitchen where scarlet is making coffee, he grabs her gently from behind and pulls her closer to his chest, he could feel her breathing calmly and deeply.
" herb... ?baby u have to let me go if u want me to make the coffee" she whispers giggling.
Herb dosent answer her he just replies by kissing her neck, he spins her round so she is now facing him and kisses her softly on the lips.
She looks into his eyes as she pulls away " What was that for" she says giggling
" so you remember how much I love you when you leave" .
Herb picked her up and sat her on the counter so that her legs were wrapped round his torso.
" baby what are we doing" Scarlet says putting her arms around his neck.
"Giving you a reason to come home" herb says kissing her softly on the head.
"Herbie you are my reason for existing not just coming home".
Scarlet kissed herb lips, they knew where this was going but neither objected.
Still kissing herb carries Scarlet into the living room and lays her softly on the couch, whilst leaning over the top of her he kisses her softly on the lips each time moving his hands up and down the side of her ribs to her hips, Scarlet holding her arms around him. Scarlet pulls herb closer so he is now lying onto of her but still keeping his hand balanced on the couch as making sure not to squash her little "delicate" frame.
They start to remove items of clothing; socks, shoes, scarlets dress, herbs t-shirt and jeans and of course any underwear. Piles of clothes lay on the floor as the two lovers proclaimed their love for one another. After all was over scarlet lay in herbs arms he could feel her skin pressed against him it was soft and warm.
They both fell asleep on the couch that night but when herb woke Scarlet was no where to be found her pile of clothes on the floor where gone and herbs were now on a neat pile at the end of the couch. ON herbs clothing was a note that scarlet had left it read,
"My dearest darling herb,
I am so sorry I left without saying goodbye but we both know how awful I am at them. I wanted to remember u like I saw you last night and not see you disheartened, I love you baby and I will be back tomorrow night can't wait to see you herbie.
Love from scarlet".
Herb kissed the letter and sat back on the couch holding it between his hands as if it were a piece of gold or a newborn baby, he new scarlet would be back tomorrow but for herb that was too long she was his queen, his everything and without her he felt nothing.
