(Y/n) was woken by the sun shining through a gap in his curtains. He groaned and rolled over in bed, hoping to get a few more minutes in his bed.

Unfortunately, there was no more bed for him to roll onto and, instead of a warm comfy mattress, he was met with a hard wooden floor.

He hit the floor with a thump and a yelp. His teammates, woken up by the commotion, gazed sleepily at their team leader laying in a heap on the floor.

As he lay on the floor, (y/n) though he noticed something different about today. It seemed like the sun was a bit brighter; the air also smelled different, like it was a bit fresher.

Then he realised something. It was spring.

(Y/n) loved spring. It was his favourite season. The sky was always bright and clear, the plants and trees flourished, and the whole of vale just seemed nicer.

He smiled and stood up. Walking over to the window, he threw it open and inhaled deeply.

He turned around and started getting dressed. This was going to be a good day.

- RWBY's dorm -

Whilst (y/n) was excited about spring, there was another person who is also affected by it.

This person was laying curled up in bed. She too was woken by a thin shaft of sunlight shining in through the window.

She slowly opened her large lilac orbs and looked around the room. She sat up, wolf ears twitching and tail swishing behind her. There was a feeling that she just couldn't shake. It was like an itch that she just couldn't scratch, and was already making her uncomfortable. She sat there, trying to figure out what it was.

Suddenly she realised, and her eyes snapped open fully.

She was in heat.

- Prof Oobleck's class -
