Ryland's POV

Hey, I'm Ryland and this is my life. At the moment I live in a pretty poor family and by family I mean my mom and my brother. But they aren't my biological family and It hasn't always been like this. When I was 6 my dad got drunk and swerved off a highway and rolled onto the road under us landing on the roof of the car dead. That night flashing lights were outside of my house and the cops told my mom the whole story. About a week later my mom was an alcoholic and couldn't handle me and my sister so she killed herself and that day social services took me and my sister out of our hose and put us in a foster care. My sister got adopted that day. However it took me 4 years to get adopted. My new dad was abusive to me and my mom and cheated on her. He left and took all the money. When I moved into this family they already had one child who I never met because he was in college. He came home to live with us to help my mom because she had gotten severely sick. And I am now 17.

Shane's POV

I live with my dad, and that's it. I used to have 7 other siblings and my mom. No, my parents didn't split and I was the only one who stayed with my dad. It went down so differently. One of my brothers died from a skin eating disease. What happened to the others? It was winter and it had snowed so much that it was very icy outside and that made the roads super slippery. My mom and siblings went out to see some family but my dad stayed home to watch me because I was sick and only 9  years old. There was a car going too fast and it slammed into the back of my mom causing her to slide into the intersection and the car coming couldn't stop and crashed into her sliding her car down a steep ditch that led into a river that was frozen. When the car hit the ice broke flooding the car. 3 of my siblings made it to the hospital, but ended up dying of hypothermia. So now, its just me and my dad but we live in a huge house and we ate rich because he has 3 beat selling books and owns his own business.
