Many people say home is where the heart is but for most witches and wizards it's the school where they have most of their positive experiences or where they make their friends or where they learn magic. But for me it's at my parents house, where people care about me, not who my grandfather was.

My great-grandfather was Gellert Grindelwald. One of the most famous dark wizards of all time. Because of this fact many people look down on my family. Even though we are descended from the infamous dark wizard we are well off. Very well off that is. Our house isn't the biggest but it is filled to the brim with magical artifacts that we keep or sell or buy. My mother, you see, is a fanatic when it comes to old wizarding items. The room that the no-maj's would call a garage has been converted into my mom's store, The Last Spell. My dad on the other hand is a quidditch referee and travels all over the world to work at international games. My younger brother is only 8. There is 7 year between us but we are the closest siblings anyone will see.He tells me everything and I tell him mostly everything. Everything, except the things he doesn't need to know. The things that will keep him safe and naive.

"Yes. It's is for the best that you go to Hogwarts," The principal tells me. I lean back in my chair and stair around the office. Blank white walls, plain black desk. Nothing special. "You can start over. Make this change for the better Alicia. Professor Dumbledore has made sure to keep your uh... relation to Grindelwald a secret. It is for the best."

"Fine," I respond. "Can I go?"

"Yes, you are free to go. Professor Dumbledore and I will be in touch with you and your family about the transfer."

"Ok, thanks," I say again, getting out of my chair and leaving. I exit the building and let out my most piercing taxi whistle. A bright green car comes out of nowhere and screeches to a stop in front of me. I climb in and tell the driver the driver the address of my home.

The car whips around bends and flies through intersections but is really the safest means of magical transportation. There's no need to worry about splinching or crashing your broom and no no-majs can see it.

Finally my house comes into view. The beautiful stone building stands tall, proud, and confident in a way that I could only dream of acting. I get out and thank the driver, handing him four silver sickles and one knut. I walk around to the back of the car and grab my school trunk.

I roll the trunk up the path to the door.

"I'm home!" I call. All of a sudden I hear a series of thumping and my 8 year old brother Braiden runs down the stairs.

"Ali!" He squeals and tackles me in the biggest bear hug a 8 year old can give.

"Hey, Kiddo!" I say, ruffling his hair. "Ready for some summer quidditch practice?"

"Yeah!" He shouts and sprints off to get his broom. I drag my heavy school trunk up the stairs. It's covered in Thunderbird crest stickers now that I'm going to be transferring schools I guess I'll have to use a severing charm to get them off.

Once I get my trunk up the stairs and into my room, I run back downstairs with my Firebolt and head out our back yard.

Ever since I was little, I loved to fly. When I got older, Mum and Dad put enchantments on the back yard so that no no-majs would be able to see me practice. I would streak back and forth across the yard scoring goals through the one metal ring my parents set up for me. When my brother began to talk and find interests, I was already in school and was a chaser on the Thunderbird Quidditch team. I was so excited to have a little brother with the same love of quidditch that I did. I taught him how to fly. I taught him all about the different positions that there were, about the balls, and all the rules.

"Ready, Kiddo?" I ask. "This summer I'm gonna train you hard!"

"Ready!" he says, mounting his broom and kicking off the ground. He soars into the air. I grab the beaters bat and a no-maj playground ball and chase after him.

"Here," I say handing him the bat. "I'm gonna throw the ball and I want you to pretend that if you miss the ball it goes and hits your best team member taking them out of the game."

"Ok," Brady says seriously. I throw the ball to his left and he swerves to go and hit the ball but he misses. I dive chasing after the ball and catch it right before it hits the ground.

"That's ok, try again," I say. "Keep your eye on the ball." I toss the ball just beneath him and he swoops and hits it, sending it spiraling off towards the ground. I dive again catching it.

"Good!" I shout back up to him. "That was really good." I steadily rise, climbing up in altitude to get level with Brady.

He grins. "I kept my eye on the ball! It worked!" He exclaims.

"Of course it did!" I smirk, "Your big sister knows all!"

We work on a few more skills until the sun starts to set and we are called back inside for dinner.

Dinner is awkward.

There's no other way to put it. Dad was off reff-ing and mom was very preoccupied with a new artifact. She kept glancing at her office, wanting to go back in and study it some more.

"So your principal sent me an owl," Mum starts, "He's talked it over with Professor Dumbledore and you have a spot at Hogwarts. I'm so proud of you."

"Uh... thanks, mum. If you want to go back to work Brady and I can clear the table and do the dishes," I offer awkwardly.

"No, no. I'll help. This one is hard. I can't figure it out. Some time away may just do the trick," she says. I know she's talking about the artifact but I honestly don't see what so tricky about it.

"When do you want to go to Diagon Alley? Mum asks.

"I dunno," I shrug. I'm nervous about making a commitment to a new school. I don't know how the people there will treat me and I don't want to screw up a second chance.
