I hope you guys enjoy the story. This is like an alternate ending of what happened at Cotillion. Sorry for the long chapter xx
Before Cotillion....
Uma's POV:
I looked in the mirror, and looked at the baby blue dress Dizzy made for me, well the one I forced her to make. I tucked a loose braid back into my hair.
"You deserve this" I whispered to myself.
I heard footsteps behind me, and saw Ben from the mirror. He walked up behind me and encircled his arms around my waist and rested his head on my shoulder. I flinched a bit because no one has ever been this close to me except Harry, but he loved getting in people's faces.
"You look beautiful" He whispered.
I planted a small smile on my face, "We better get going before your hands start going other places" I joked.
He chuckled, "I agree" He said releasing me from his grasp.
We both left the castle and headed for the limo.
At Cotillion
The guard opened the limo for us and then I stepped out. "Wow" I said in awe, I've never been to a Cotillion. I spun around like a little princess.
Ben grabbed my hand and we were on our way to enter the big white boat. A guard noticed me and vastly pulled out his sword, he didn't even tell me to halt, I knew that if I took any steps further, that he'd strike.
"Gregory, it's okay. She's with me" Ben said putting his hand up, signaling Gregory to put his sword down. The guard still had his sword up until he finally decided to put it down.
"Pardon me, King Ben" He said bowing before Ben.
"It's okay" Ben said.
He rose up and gave me a death glare, I knew he would be paying close attention to me for the rest of the night, if I'd live for the rest of the night.
Ben led me to the upstairs, abruptly he hid me.
"What's wrong"? I whispered, not knowing why I was whispering.
He sighed, "It's the news reporters, let's go the other way" He said.
Ben went ahead of me and I just poked my head out a bit and I saw Mal posing for paparazzi and answering questions from news reporters. I mouthed I'm coming for you.
I then followed Ben the other way, which was going down the stairs but it lead us to the outside deck.
I was confused, "Why are we here...we need to get inside" I said. I turned around to go back until Ben slammed the door shut and I was pushed up onto the door.
He lightly chuckled, "I didn't know you were going to get this far" Ben said.
I tried pushing him off, "W-What are you talking about"? I asked him.
He lightly chuckled, "You do realize that charming the King is a crime, right"? He asked me, even though I knew it was a rhetorical question.
I stopped struggling, "It's not a crime, when the spell doesn't work" I snapped back at him, rolling my eyes.
Ben sighed then moved away from me and then gripped the taffrail. He looked out to the sea, "I have a proposal for you" He said in a low voice, even though I heard what he said.
"Listen, Ben, I'm not actually here for you. I'm here for Mal, you think she's all innocent, but she's not. Ugh, I wish I could get my hands on her" I ranted, while lowering my voice on the last words I said.
Ben rested his shoulders and then turned around to me, "Uma...listen to me" He said, his tone seeming serious.
I listened. He sighed, " I know you don't care for Mal, but I'm making you a promise, a promise that will benefit you and the Isle. You don't have to ruin Cotillion to get what you want" He said, emphasizing on not ruining Cotillion.
I scoffed, "Ben, this was basically the Isle's last chance to be free, there's nothing else I can do than to go in there and take Fairy Godmother's wand"! I said accidentally blurting out my plan.
He weirdly smiled, "There's no need for that" He said, reaching into his pocket. He pulled out a golden ring and then started to approach me.
I held my hand out, signaling him to not come any closer, instead of pulling a sword from my sheath, something that was normal on the Isle. "If you're trying to trap me again, you do realize that I can jump off the boat, right"? I said reminding him of what I was capable of doing.
He laughed, "I won't" He said. He then raised my left hand and he put the ring on my ring finger.
"I don't get it. What's the ring for"? I asked him.
He was about to explain to me what it was for until the trumpet horns were blown loud. It meant that it was time for him to make his appearance.
He sighed, "I promise that we'll meet again soon" He said, his eyes full of meaning.
He gave me a small smile and then entered back inside the boat and closed the door behind him. The only thing left outside the deck was me and the loud, growling wind and the moving sea.
I looked at my hand and admired the ring he had given me. I then noticed that Mal's name was engraved onto the ring. I got angry, why would he give me something like this? I was about to take it off and throw it into the water, but I decided to leave it on because for some reason I just couldn't get rid of it.
I didn't know what I was going to tell Harry or Gil, or even the Isle when I would get back. This was my chance to set them free and I failed but I guess this "promise" that Ben had made me would somehow be the bright side. For now, maybe it was best for me to hide it from them.
I climbed over the taffrail and I breathed in and then jumped into the water. I turned into my Cecalian form and then swam as fast as my octopus legs could swim back to the Isle.
