It came out of nowhere.
A blinding light.
A bolt from the sky.
Heading straight towards Jesy Nelson's head.
Was she dead? Probably. Not many people survive a lightning strike. But Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Perrie Edwards refused to accept that fact. They rushed her to the hospital where she was immediately placed in the emergency room.
An hour later, a doctor informed them that she was in fact, dead. There was nothing they could do. The electricity fried her brain.
The three girls sat on the uncomfortable waiting room bench, stunned. She couldn't be dead. It wasn't possible. Jessica Louise Nelson was not dead. The shock had begun to set in. Misery would come later.
The doctor sighed. He had obviously been through this many times before. It must be a hard job, trying to save people but failing. The worst part must be telling the relatives. And the friends. The awful look in their eyes, like nothing was worth it anymore. They always got over it eventually. After all, humans live only for a speck in time. Their memories are not long. They are fickle beings.
Which is why I expected these three to be recovered in less than a year.
