-Milou open the window-
10:01
I feel my heart seize up and my stomach go into knots. I don't want to look at the window. But I knew I was going to have to sooner or later. So I look, and I'm surprised when I don't see anything. I stand and shuffle over. I don't see anyone on my fire escape. So I open my Window and check blew and above me. That's when I see Jason a few steps up, almost at the next level.
"You've put a distance between us- afraid I'll punch you again?" I ask.
"Yes- and I don't blame you- honestly I can just say thanks for not shooting me." He says.
He looks tired, his hair is a mess from the breeze. He's wearing heavier clothing because how cold it is. He's sitting in a more relaxed position but I can read how fidgety he is. He was nervous. But he damn well should be. I was still pretty pissed at him.
"You said you didn't want to hear that I was sorry so I guess you already know I am-"
"Are you though?" I ask.
He looks at me hurt.
"Of course I am- I'd be a bigger asshole than I already am if I wasn't." He says and I hum.
"So you know how shity of a move this was huh?"
"Unbelieveably shity-"
"Then why the fuck did you do it?" I ask and he huffs. He looks away and tries to figure out what to say.
"What didn't practice your lines?" I ask.
"No- you just make me forget them,"
"Good- I don't want you feeding me anything rehearsed. It doesn't always match what you really mean." I say and he sighs.
"Man I fucking hate how you're right about shit so much-" He mumbles.
"So you answering the question or not? Because if not I'm locking this window and leaving you to freeze-"
"Can we just- can we talk inside?" He asks.
He's cold obviously. I won't be a bitch. I nod and move away from the window. I watch him has he climbs in like he's already done it 100 times. He probably has with what he does. He buys himself more time as he turns around to shut the window. He's still looking for what to say.
"Why didn't you just tell me- you obviously trust me." I say and he huffs.
"Because I was scared- not as much as about how you would react it's just... The last time I tried anything, fuck I guess you could say, romantic the girl I was with ended up almost dying. At the hands of the Joker of course. There's a long story between him and I- long story short he killed me- I got better. Milou I don't doubt that you can take any one in a fight. Hell you could probably beat me when you're at your peek. But- that doesn't make me any less afraid. I guess I just wanted something good without getting to- to close." He breaths slowly turning from the window and looking at me.
I didn't expect an explanation like that. But I let out a breath.
"Jason- if you want anything from me- you need to treat me like an equal. That's all I've ever asked from you. I've just wanted your trust." I say and he lets out one long breath.
"I know it's just-"
"Jason. Can you let yourself trust me?" I ask.
He opens and closes his mouth.
"I want to."
"Then let go- I've been through hell and back more then you know- you probably have too. Let go of your fear- and find strength in this trust. You know damn well we won't let anything happen to each other- I mean obviously." I hold up the arm of my wounded side.
I see the corners of his lips turn up just a bit.
"You really think it's that easy-"
"I never said that- but the good part about it is that you're not alone." I say and he lets out a breath.
"So you forgive me?"
"I still want to punch you-"
"But?"
"But, I get it now. So I do forgive you- but Jason, you ever lie to me like that again and I will shoot you."
"I won't stop you." He says smiling a bit more.
"Good- not like you'd be able to." I smirk going towards my kitchen.
"Oh no- you get your butt back on the couch you are not cooking-"
"I'm getting coffee for us jeeez- do you want some or not you cum bubble?"
"Cumbubble? Did you just call me cum bubble-?" he's in disbelief.
"So no coffee."
"No Coffee- I mean yes coffee- I would like a cup of coffee."
