White noise is amazing, I was sound asleep until I start to hear talking outside my window. I jump out of bed remembering that it's moving day. My parents thought it would be good for a change from everything that's been happening. Let me catch you up, my parents found out that I have been smoking the jesus cabbage for a couple years. But yet they don't know why I did it. You see, let me break it down for you. I have really bad anxiety, depression and just over all I'm a fucked up mess. And it helped me forget for at least a couple hours. I filled my mom in a little bit on it. To which she flipped out. It took a minute to process it. She understood and told me she would be here for me if I need anything. She told me that we would need to set up an appointment with a psychiatrist. I agreed to it, it sounded like a better idea than keeping it all in.
I grabbed my hair tie pulling my hair back and putting my dad hat on. I slipped my black high top vans on, grabbing my penny board. Walking to the kitchen I spot my mom packing the last of the kitchen appliances. "Hey mom I'm going to go skate for a few is there anything you need help with before I go?"
"No I'm fine honey, just be back here in 30 minutes so we can load up and take off."
"Ok, love you " I start heading out the door.
"Love you too sweetie"
I head outside to see my dad packing the truck.
"Hey Dad, I'm going to go skate for a few"
"Did you talk to mom about it?"
"Yes sir"
"Ok, have fun"
I start skating down to the park that's about 5 minutes away. When I arrived at the park I saw a lot of kids playing while parents gossip on the benches. I pulled my phone out texting my best friend Maddi. "Hey, I'm at the park where are you?" Maddi is always taking her 12 year old brother to the park so he can skate around. My phone binged. "I'm on my way, I'm just around the corner" I sat down with my feet on my penny board. "bOO" Maddi yelled.
"oh mY GAWD MADDI DON'T DO THAT MY GUY" I slapped Maddi on the arm. "ow meanie" she said laughing. "Haley, look I learned some new tricks!" Drake, Maddi's little brother started doing a bunch of flips and tricks with his board. "Good job little dude! You're getting so good!" I cheered him on. He finished and came over sitting next to me while Maddi leaned again the tree that was by the bench. He looked up at me "I'm gonna miss you so much" he pulled me in for a hug. "Aw bud, imma gonna miss you too but I promise I'll come and visit when ever I can." Maddi came over joining the hug. "I can't believe today is the day, I'm gonna miss you too!" After our group hug we pulled away. We heard the ice cream truck coming by and Drake really wanted some ice cream. Maddi pulled out a 5 and handed it to him. "Go crazy my dude" he sprinted up to the truck.
Maddi turned to me. "I'm gonna miss you so much, who else is gonna party it up with me?" She started tearing up. "I know, but hey you got Sara. She's a party animal. Plus I'll be visiting as much as I can" she nodded. "Just promise me you'll FaceTime whenever you can, so you can catch me up on the drama there" she laughed. "Of course, you're still my tea spilling go to person." "good" We both smiled and hugged. "MADDI, HALEY, LOOK AT THIS SICK NINJA TURTLE ICE CREAM ISN'T IT THE SICKEST THING1!1!1!?¿" We both laugh. I check my phone for the time, it read "1:24".
"Oh dang, hey guys it's time for me to go" We all said our goodbyes and everything. "Y'all tell your parents I said bye and that I love them and thank you for everything they've done for me" I smile. "We will, love you. Bye Haley"
We all start walking our own ways. I start tearing up. I hate that I'm leaving them. I throw my board down and start to skate home.
