I packed my backpack, zipping up the zipper, slowly. I slipped on my high tops as I reached for my jacket that was laying on the foot of my bed. I shrugged it over my shoulders as I bent down and retrieved my bag.

Opening my door, I slipped out into the hallway. I stayed close to the wall as I treaded lightly, not wanting to get caught. I heard a door open as I saw the back of one of the nuns backing out of the room. 'Shit' I mouthed as I quickly dodged to hide behind the wall by the doorway. I made myself as little as possible, hoping she won't see me.

I heard the jingling of keys as she locked one of the doors. "Father Andrew, I wanted to have a word with you" Said sister Marlene, my favorite nun, not.

"What is it, sister?" He asked, I peeped my head out slightly and saw them standing in front of my exit, shit.

"It's about Meghan, she's been quite the trouble maker lately" I rolled my eyes. I'm the 'trouble maker' why don't you scold the other girls here, I do what I do to defend myself, not just for the joy it...well.

"She's been picking fights with the other girls. I've warned her and warned her, but she just doesn't listen" her voice went high at the end, making me wish I could hit her. Father Andrew sighed.

"I'll have a talk with her in the morning" I smiled at that. He always tells her that, but he always talks to me about other things, more so the adventures I want to go on. He says I'm his favorite student, that when I'm old enough to get out of here, I'll be able to achieve great things.

"Thank you Father."

"Good night, sister Marlene." I peeked out again and saw him open the front door and heard it lock from the other side. The sister walked into another room, I crouched down as I treaded behind her. I hid behind the couch as she walked over to a window, she looked around, I moved closer to the floor.

She pulled out a pack of cigarettes, tapping the box before pulling one out. She lit it stuffing the pack and the lighter back into the pocket of her robes.

"Oh, you're so busted" I said to myself.

"Sister Marlene, I've forgotten my keys" she jerked her head to the door, eyes widened. "Oh, damn" she threw the cigarette out the window before closing it. "Sister?"

"I'm coming, Father" she rushed to the door, I moved and made my way towards the window.  I hopped over the window seal as I scaled the roof.

I got to the gate, as usual, I grabbed a few boxes and crates and stacked them along the brick wall. I hopped over and landed on my feet with a oomf. I turned around and looked at the giant copper gate. 'St Anne's Catholic school and Orphanage' I scoffed. "To hell with you, damn orphanage" I shook my head as I took off running down the street.

I pulled my hoodie over my head as I walked down the dimly lit streets of Boston. I looked through the windows and saw a pretty nice looking shop on the inside.

"I looked closer to see if there was any kind of security system. I didn't see anything, thank God. I made my way round back and looked for the back door.

I found the door and kneeled down in front of it. I slid my backpack down my shoulders as I observed it. I pulled out my lock pick kit as I inserted them into the lock. I quieted my breathing as I listened closely for the click. I moved my right hand down slightly as I heard it click, I smiled to myself in triumph.

I picked up my bag as I quietly opened the door. I looked around at anything I might be able to grab. I picked up a few trinkets, jewelry, etc, things I know my buyer would like. I zipped up my bag when I heard a floor board creak.
