The beginning of this chapter is just a small intro to main character and Gladion's love interest, Kayla Moon Arins.
The picture in the media is a rough idea of what Kayla, the Alola Pokemon Champion, looks like. She had milk chocolate brown hair that begins to wave from her shoulders to her mid back. Her eyes are a dark brown, and her face is heart shaped. Kayla is tall, about 5' 9". She has a much simpler choice of attire than Lillie, who in this story has resorted back to the look she assumes at the beginning of the game. She wears dark blue jeans, knee high black leather boots, and alternates between a black under armour jacket with blue designs, a fitted black leather jacket, or a black peacoat (in a way reflecting her desire to not stand out).
Alec is the only nicknamed Pokemon in this series. Alec is Kayla's Decidueye, which she evolved from a Rowlet, her starter Pokemon.
Kayla is 16, Gladion is 18, Hau is 16, and Lillie is 15. Ash is 16 and May is 15.

~Kayla's POV~
It was dark and I was worried.
I was facing her, the woman that had almost ended my life twice before, neither of us spoke.
Something was wrong and I could sense it.
The shadow of a beast appeared.
The beast's Ultra waves radiated through the room, causing my head and chest to be seized in pain.
I tried to speak, trying to call out my Pokemon for help.
No sound.
No voice.
All was silent, but fear and pain was all I could feel. Fear and pain, two things I hoped would never take me over at the same time again.
As the shadow neared me I knew that I wasn't likely to make it away, I couldn't move, couldn't speak, couldn't feel.
As it moved closer I felt weaker.
I felt weak.
I felt scared.
I felt lost.
The shadow, it was about to attack me, he jumped in front of him.
I don't know how but it was getting inside my head.
His pain radiated into my body as the beast sent Ultra waves towards his body.
It was playing my worst memories all over again.
Taking all of my happy memories and destroying them.
Everything that had ever meant anything was gone.
Then it found my worst fears.
'You think that we have given up. Lusamine wasn't the only one who desired to bring the beast to your world. We will find a way to invade your world. And once we do, we will kill you and every last person you care about.'
The voice was emotionless and cold. Her voice and the voice of another I had never met.
There was nothing left.
It was taking everything from me.
It was attacking me from the inside out.
It hurt.
It hurt like hell.'
I jolt forward gasping for air. The room coming into focus. My head still throbbed, but the pain in my chest was subsiding.
The room was dark just like the dream, just like the world of the Ultra Beast.
"Kayla?" The emerald eyed male, asks sitting up. "Are you ok?"
"Nightmare." I say my chest heaving, my head continued to painfully throb.
"What happened?" He asks as I push my hair out of my face holding my head in my hands.
"It's fine. Just give me a minute." I sigh standing up and leaving the bedroom.
I walked out of the Pokemon league, the sun helping to clear my head. I wasn't used to being outside as often during the day because of Alola's flipped time table for the Pokemon league. Even the sun; however, did not take away the chill of Mt. Lanakila. I was suddenly grateful that I was wearing a pair of leggings and an under armour sweatshirt. Although the snow on my feet was slightly refreshing against my hot skin.
Some of the elite fours Pokemon were sleeping outside as most of them preferred, but all of the four elite four members had returned home for the day, to get some rest. I brushed my milk chocolate brown hair out of my face as it flooded in loose waves down to my midback. Looking at all the Pokemon helped distract me from everything my dream had been about. I sensed his Aura before I heard him approaching.
"What happened?" Gladion asks walking up behind me and wrapping his arms around my waist, nuzzling my neck.
"It's not important, just the usual." I say, running a hand through his hair.
"I hate everything she did to you. I hate her for what she did to all of us." Gladion sighs in frustration. "I hate everything she did to Lillie, leading her to fear Pokemon and making her feel worthless. I hate how she was torturing Null, forcing me to run away and survive on my own. I hate how she almost killed you."
He said the last part with a pain in his voice that always appeared when my near death experience was brought up.
"But we survived. We survived, all of us and even though we dealt with so much strife we made it out stronger. Everything that happened got me here. I'm Pokemon league champion, I have amazing friends who are always there for me, my Pokemon are extraordinary and the best partners I could ask for, and I have you. I wouldn't trade any of my past, any of the pain or the memories, because it got me here. I am who I am because of all I've been through." I smile. "I love you."
"I love you too." He says, kissing my cheek.
We stood liken this for a few minutes, the only sound was the breathing of the Pokemon.
"Kukui wants me to come see the new trainer that is at the Pokemon school. Hala says he has potential. I'm going to head down there as soon as I get dressed. You want to come to see your sister?"
"Sure."
"Hau is gonna be there."
"Great, I get to see him flirt with my sister." The sheer look of distaste on Gladion's face was purely amusing.
"You have fun with that." I smile as we walk back into the Pokemon League.
