When we found out - Introduction

I was normal. I grew up happy with my family. My parents loved me. I was well behaved. Everything was going fine.
When I was about two, I started to change. To me, my parents seemed tired as they moved and talked slower every day. What I didn't know was that there was nothing wrong with them. It was me.
I ate fast, I walked fast and I spoke fast, my parents could never understand what I was saying. They took me to a doctor to see if I had any mental problems. The doctor said to come back when I was older so he could ask me some questions. When I was five we went back and I explained; just about slow enough for the doctor to hear, that everything goes slower every day. The doctor suggested that time went by slower for me, a lot slower. Of course this seemed quite supernatural so he got fired. The new doctor suggested the same useless stuff doctors always say when really they have no idea what to do.  My parents believed the first doctor,  there wasn't really another answer. I would just have to learn how to speak slow and try to fit in.
I found it hard through primary school to make friends cause no one understood me. Although I improved, I got bullied every day. By time I was 11, my voice sounded completely fine and I could move at normal speed according to my parents. We decided to move house so I would be able to start again at a highschool where no one knew me. We decided not to tell anyone about my situation.
I made friends pretty quickly at my new school. Jack and Thomas were and still are my main friends, they are huge geeks and they are always impressed how I finish a YouTube gaming series in one night.
"I'm so jealous Austin, how on earth do you get your parents to not notice you stay up all night on your phone?" They always ask. Little do they know that I actually watch the videos with a setting that makes it 5x faster. I would prefer it to be 10 but A. I don't want to get used to being fast and B. It doesn't have a setting that fast.
Apart from the boredom which I've kind of gotten used to, I have a pretty fun life, I finish my homework fast because I'm aloud to be fast in my bedroom on my own, so I have plenty of free time to have time to myself, to eat, to shower every day, to excercise and then I can spend time with my family so they're happy. I can't imagine what it would be like to be normal, I would never excercise or shower because I would be doing homework and having time to myself which I wouldn't cope without.
Luckily my parents have good jobs so they can afford a big house so I can do a lot at home where no one can see me rather than going outside and trying to act normal all the time.
