School was shit. I met up with Maia at the end of the day, like we usually did. I trudged along the path leading to the school gates slightly behind Maia, whose fingers were perfectly interlocked with Tom's. I looked on as they laughed together, giggled and generally looked happy together. I was kinda jealous, I guess but I'd never really liked boys - boys never really liked me either.
"Chloe, Tom and I were planning to go to the skating rink now. We're gonna get the bus into town, if you wanna come," Maia called, her beautiful long brown hair blowing across her face in the wind.
"Um, it's okay. I'll go home. I have homework to do, sorry," I lied. Honestly, I just wasn't in the mood to do physical activity with a madly in love couple, who wouldn't pay attention to me.
"You're such a bore! Oh well, your loss," she replied. She turned in her heels and went back into her world where only her and Tom existed.
Once again, I put both earphones in and wandered to the bus stop. I kept my head down to avoid making eye contact with any member of the human race. Nearly every single person on this planet disgusted me. Ugh.
