It was only ten minutes into Veronica's first day of Senior year and she was already ready for it to end. She had barely even made it to school on time due to her alarm clock breaking over the summer.
Veronica turned around the winding hallways and was met face to face with her best friend.
"Micheal!" She shouted, engulfing him into a massive bear hug.
"Hey Veronica! How was summer?" He asked.
"Pretty great, you?"
"Good, good-"
As he was about to finish his sentence, Rich stole his backpack and wrote something on it in sharpie.
The two just stood there like deer in the headlights. Rich just stole Micheal's backpack? Why waste his time on Micheal?
"There ya' go loser," he tossed back Micheal's backpack.
As he was about to leave he grabbed Micheal's shoulder and whispered into his ear, "and don't you dare wash that off."
Almost as soon as he had appeared, he was gone, leaving a baffled Veronica and Micheal in his wake.
Micheal flipped over his bag to read the fresh ink writing on his bag. He sighed as he read the black scribbles.
Slowly, he put on his back back and began his walk of shame.
Everyone in the hallways noticed the writing on his backpack, slowly bleeding out from their original markings into him bag, staining his belongings. He pulled up his headphones to block out the laughter.
As he left, Veronica read the writing and gasped. Although the writing was too messy to completely read as he moved through the hallways, it had words and names standing out in the otherwise blurry writing. What could be made out read, "Jeremy ... my ... boyfriend."
That sent chills down Veronica's spine. She knew that Micheal had a low key thing for Jeremy since he was little, so seeing it written out on his bag was just humiliating. She had no idea how Rich had uncovered this kind of information, or if it was just a shot in the dark.
...
Later that day she went to the bathroom to clear her head. Once in there, she saw Rich and Jake standing at the mirror. Rich's eyes lingered to the door frame where Veronica stood bug eyed.
"OhmygodIjustwalkedintothewrongbathroomI'msosorryI'mnotapervIjustgotlostandI'llbeleavingnow," she gasped for air as she turned to leave when she felt a hand drag her in.
Rich.
"One minute- you're Micheal's 'friend', aren't you?" He had a quite scary grin on his face that said serial killer.
"Y-yes?" Veronica said, still in shock she had just walked into the wrong bathroom.
"I've heard from the grape vine that you're good at forgery handwritings?"
"Yes?"
"I need you to write something for me."
"O-okay!"
Rich handed her a pen and a sticky note.
"Can you write as Jeremy Heere?"
"Yes but why-"
"Shh, get to writing, copy down this note in his handwriting."
