The girl at the top is who I imagine Park Sejin as.

Some Korean vocabulary that is used in the story:

Yah=Hey, Ne=Yes, Aish=Damn it!, Byunte=Pervert, Mianhe=Sorry, Anyong=Hello, and more!

----------------------------------------------------------

"Yah, Park Sejin! Get back here you poop-brained idiot, it's almost time for the opening dance!". It was my best friend, Lee Yeri. "I'm coming, you pee-brained idiot!" I called back as she stomped around, her dress flying every which way. She took things waaaay too seriously. Especially when it came to dancing. Myself, well, dancing was just a fun distraction from what I really wanted to become. A teacher in martial arts and sword fighting. Anyway, I was just putting the last few finishing touches in my hair when...

"Come on, I'm not joking around, they are starting like right now!" Yep, again, Yeri. "FINE. It's not your fault if I look horrible onstage," I grumbled, trying not to do the habit of hitching up my skirt when I walked.

2 minutes into the dance when...

The dance was going just as planned. That is, until I fell. I was pushed off by another fellow's wrong footwork accidentally, and I was rolling off stage when I felt arms reaching out and falling into them. Gosh darn it,  I then thought to myself. How was I ever going to get through the humiliation of this incident?  I then stole a glance at the face of my rescuer, and then almost fainted.

It was Seok Hansung.

"Now what is this ugly lady doing in my arms?" he said while half smiling, half frowning. I really don't know how he does it. The audience laughed at this, and he whispered in my ear "You owe me, Sejin." I shook myself out of his arms, and without any warning, slapped him in the face. The audience gasped. I then managed to get out "Shut up and go away, you byunte." Then he grabbed me by the wrist and then said, "Who told you that I was letting you go? You still have a debt." "Please, I'll give you all my coins I have after the show, just let me go." He did. I then stomped up to the stage and signaled the drummers to start again. Ha, yes and we successfully finished the show.

After it all ended and walking back home...

"Sooo..." Yeri began. Uh-oh, here it comes. "How did you feel when the town's most sought after boy caught you in his arms?" I then replied, "Umm, can we just forget that ever happened. I am so honestly embarrassed." "Sure." Yeri replied back. Then after a few moments of silence...

"But wait, Hansung can't see you anymore! You are getting accepted into that martial arts academy that you wanted to go in!" Yep, Yeri is at it again. Lots of years being her friend taught me that she did not give up easily. I then responded, "Oh come on, Yeri...what did I say?"

"Right, right."

At home...

"A letter, Miss Park." my maid said, bowing as she placed it in my hands. "Thanks Sohyun!" I yelled as she walked away. Then I proceeded opening it/ripping the delicate envelope apart. It revealed a very fine quality paper, which read;

Dear Park Sejin,

You have been chosen out of the top ten students to go to the royal court of Silla and instruct your own students. However, these "students"  are about 20 years old, and they are called the "Hwarang." They are also very disobedient, and although there are other, much more famous martial art teachers besides you in the capital of Silla, we chose you because we thought the Hwarang would "cooperate" better with you, so to say.

Please come to the royal court as soon as possible. Guards will be informed of your arrival.

Hwagong

No. No, no, no, NO! Why! I would never be accepted into the martial arts world if I skipped the process of going to a proper academy. Actually, what was more unfair was that I did get accepted, that I was one of the few that got in the academy, when the royal court just comes waltzing in on my life out of nowhere and drags me down. And it's not like you are allowed to deny the invitation. When the royal court invites you, you MUST go.

Maybe I could escape? No, no, even if  I did manage to get out of the royal court, the martial arts academy would never accept a student that ran out on a school. Maybe lie that my parents do not approve? No, that would make it worse. They would find out, and I would bring shame to the family. I would have to go and face the royal court. Those asses. They didn't even have a proper king, they ruled with a regent queen, who was frankly, a very suspicious woman in my opinion.

I then proceeded to go to my father's room and tell him the "good" news.

"This is excellent! I knew my daughter could! You were not dumb for nothing!" I glared at him. "One question to ask, father, if the royal court invites you, is there any excuse that you can use to get out of the situation?" "No." father replied. He narrowed his eyes and became stern. "You were not thinking-" "Of course not, father, just out of curiosity."

Then I went back to my room again and slept, the letter crunched up in my fist.

Woah, badass father!
