As the rain fell in tiny, silver clumps onto the grass, it sang a small song to him. It wasn't a melody that most people enjoyed, but a rhythm that struck great fear in him. A song that echoed pain and suffering and the smell made him nauseas. The monstrous thunder overhead made him cry and shake in his skin. It rarely rained, and when it did, it was the most ferocious storm that you would ever witness. The sky would turn a deep scarlet, which reminded him of the countless litres of human blood that stained the forest floor. The flashes of lightning would blind him and make him feel inferior. Nothing was good about the rain. Nothing, absolutely nothing.

For hours the storm went on. It shook the walls and made the ceiling damp. He hid under his rag to protect his skin from the searing wet that may fall fall onto him. Cold tears flowed onto the rocky ground beneath him, thick brown gunk. The hotter his body was, the intenser the cold became. So, he did his best to still the thin rivers of gold that ran through his skin. His breath was discorded and was exhaling clouds of mist. He wanted to get up and run to him, but he couldn't. Not because he may be asleep, that's never the case. It's because the flashbacks kept him down, bounded his arms and legs to the floor in shackles of despair. The storm was like war, there's nothing you can do to stop it. You either shelter yourself from it, or you join it to become numb. "You hid from it," He stuttered under his shallow breaths. "it's too dangerous out there, you'd never make it. You're too weak to pick up a gun." The ground was cold was burning his fingertips. With every wave of thunder came a new wave of memories. Bad memories. "You should be more like Syvion, Namaka, he doesn't feel a thing anymore." His claws tapped the ground and made a light tapping ambience that was drowned out against the rain. "You should've just taken the serum, be numb with him. It isn't that bad." His fangs clenched shut. He didn't know he was going through this, did he?

Little did he know that the same thing was happening two rooms across...
