The Powers of Crystal(On Hold)

"The Incident"

     I sat there, in my room, for what felt like hours. I hated when my parents fought. My little brother was crying in my arms because of their fighting. He hated it when they fought. I didn't cry....all of my tears were gone. I cried so much when I was younger. I had no tears left to shed. I also have to be strong for my brother. I cradled him in my arms until he fell asleep. I then gently placed him on my bed and covered him up with a blanket. I decided to go down stairs and see if they were done fighting.

As I walked down the steps, I heard bickering in my dad's office. How can they still be fighting? I looked at my phone and it read 1 o'clock a.m. "Great.... it is 1 in the morning and I have to wake up at 6 a.m for school," I said to myself. I opened the door of my dad's office and saw him slap my mother across the face. "Dad, don't you ever lay a hand on mom again! If you do I'll-" " You'll what, Crystal. You won't do anything because you are a pathetic little brat. You are weak!," my dad exclaimed. When I was about to say something else, my dad pulled out a gun and shot my mom. I gasped at what I just witnessed. "Dad! Why?!?!," I yelled. He then aimed the gun at me, but i knocked the gun out of his hand and kneed him where the sun does not shine. I ran as fast as I could up the stairs to go get my brother away from our psychopath dad.

"Jackson, wake up!," I yelled. " Come on, we have to leave NOW!!!!" I screamed. "What's going on?! What's wrong, Crystal?!," Jackson asked. " We have to leave now! D-dad shot Mom, h-he killed her! We have to get out of this house, Jackson!," I yelled. "M-mom's dead?," he asked. "Come on! Stop asking questions! Grab clothes from your drawer real quick! You have less than a minute!," I exclaimed. As my brother got his clothes I did the same as well. Jackson came back in 30 seconds. We ran down the steps and encountered a little "visit" with our dad. "Jackson, grab the car keys and put the stuff in the car! I will deal with dad!," I said to my brother. As Jackson started to run, my dad grabbed ahold of his arm. "Let him go! You have done enough to hurt this family!," I yelled. I got so furious I charged my dad and punched him in the jaw and elbowed his rib cage. He went down on the floor grabbing his ribs and let go of Jackson. Jackson and I ran to the car. I threw our stuff into my Jeep.
     I drove us to the police station. My brother and I ran inside and I yelled for help.  "What's wrong miss?," the police officer asked. "M-my dad k-killed her! He killed our mom!," I said while sobbing into my hands. "Miss, you need to calm down. Breathe," said the police officer. "Now, please tell me your names and explain to me what happened," the officer said. "My name is Crystal and this is my little brother, Jackson. My dad and mom were fighting," I said. "Was it a physical or a vocal fight?," asked the officer. " It started off as a vocal fight, but then my dad slapped my mom," I said. "What happened next?," asked the officer. "H-he pulled out a gun and s-shot her," I said. "How long ago did this happen?," asked the officer. "About ten minutes ago," I said. "And I am guessing you need a place to stay?," asked the officer. I nodded and he asked what pack my brother and I were from. "Umm....we aren't in a pack," I said to the officer. "Oh, well you can stay at my pack's house," the officer said. "Are you sure your alpha won't get mad?," I asked. "I am sure because I am the alpha," said the officer while chuckling. "Oh, my apologies. I am sorry alpha-"

"Bleu"

    Once the alpha's shift was over, we left and followed the alpha's car to the pack house. During the drive, I thought about what the alpha looked like. He looked like he was around his late 40's, probably 47 or close to that age, and he looked strong.

It didn't take long for us to arrive at the pack house. We followed the alpha inside of the house and saw people, lots of people. They stared at us. Most of them were confused and curious. (A/N: A picture of the pack house.)

     A couple second later, a tall, muscular boy walked up to the alpha. "Hello father. Who are they and why are they here?," he asked. "Sorry, not trying to be rude, but I am just curious," said the boy directing his statement towards Jackson and I. "This is Crystal and Jackson," said the alpha. "They will be staying here for awhile. Their mom was was killed by their dad," explained the alpha. As the alpha said that I felt tears swell up in my eyes and start falling down my cheek. "Why did this have to happen today?! Why on my birthday?!," I cried out. The alpha's son walked over to me as soon as he saw me begin to cry. "I am so sorry for what happened to your mother, especially on your birthday," he said as he hugged me and held me in his arms. I don't know why, but my tears started to stop while I was in his embrace. I felt safe in his arms for some reason. "Thank you," I said. "You're welcome," he said. "Kai, please find somewhere for Crystal and Jackson to rest,"said the alpha. "They can stay in my room. I will take the couch," said Kai. "No, you don't have to do that. My brother will take the couch and I will take the floor next to him," I said to Kai. "Crystal it is fine. After what you guys have been through, you at least deserve somewhere comfy to sleep," said Kai. "No, really we will take the couch and floor," I said. "No, you guys will sleep in my room on my bed. I will sleep on the couch and that is final," he said. "Fine," I said since I thought there was no sense in arguing. "Goodnight Crystal, Goodnight Jackson," said Kai. "Goodnight and thank you," I said as I headed up the stairs. "Wait, where is your room?," I asked. Oh, sorry I forgot to tell you. It is the first door on the right at the top of the stairs," said Kai. "Okay, thank you," I said.
