Dean had almost given up if it wasn't for Harry Potter and Voldemort. He hadn't found Seamus yet and he was beginning to think he never would. Until Harry Potter offered Dean a once in a lifetime deal. He would let Dean join him, Ron and Hermione on their request for the Deathly Hallows. They wouldn't be returning for their 7th year as long as they were on this journey. Dean almost didn't think it was a good idea to go with them just because Harry potter always had this impending death wish, and a bunch of death eaters following the trio around, but it was his only shot.
Bright and early on a foggy Sunday morning, Dean's peaceful sleep was interrupted by an owl over by his window. He rolled onto his back and stared at the ceiling. He looked at his packed bag on the ground and shook his head. The Owl dropped a note on his bed. Ready? it read. Deann sighed knowing he wasn't. He reluctantly got out of bed his feet pressing on the cool wood beneath them. The owl fluttered out of the window as Dean started dressing. Some jeans, and a sweatshirt. He let out a breath he felt like he was holding in for years. Something didn't feel right. It was too quiet. He grabbed his wand and slung his bag over his shoulder. His knuckles turning white as he clenched the bag. He took quiet steps out of his room, past his parents room, down the stairs, crossing the den before stopping. A smell was coming from the kitchen. Scared of something burning he dropped his bag and his wand and rushed into the kitchen.
His eyes were brought to tears seeing a buttered piece of toast with an assortment of fruits and berries with a glass of milk.
Nothing can fool us. We saw your drawers missing half of its
clothes how are you gonna fight he who must not be named traveling
heavy like that. Tell Harry we said hi, and if our son doesn't come
back to us in one piece we'll give him another scar.
Be safe,
Mum and Dad
P.S We know how you are. You can't fight the dark lord on an empty
stomach now can you?
A sad smile replaced the look of confusion on his face. He felt peace and warmth and a little less lonely. He glanced once more over at the stairs case, knowing at the top, down the hall, second room to the left his parents lie there, fast asleep. As he stood in the kitchen, having second thoughts. He dropped the letter back on the table and started back upstairs. As he reached the top step he shook his head and walked back down, this is what he had to do. He owed it to Seamus that he'd do whatever to get him back, and he was going to.
He secured dropped the bag on the floor and sat at the table, eating the food his mom had prepared for him. Dean finished everything along with the milk that had been still cold. He slowly collected himself and brought himself out of his chair, slinging his bag over his shoulder, securing it tightly, the strap in his hand. He walked out the door, standing in the doorway, glancing behind him, waiting a moment before closing the door and leaving the world he knew completely behind him.
