Rumors (short story)

I remember all the arguments of our past. I know its unbelievable that I do because they are never arguments. We always promised to tell everything; no secrets or lies. I remember all the times we laughed and cried. We forgave and I almost forgot.

I never forgot and I don't know why. I look at you and you look at me. I wonder if you remember what used to be. All the tears I cried at home and I come back to school, hear rumors and think of you.

How did we ever let rumors effect what was once us?
