My Pov: As I drove down the long, wet road, I noticed a figure running. A little figure. A little girl. I slammed on my brakes and pulled over on the side of the mysterious road. The little child stopped in her path, exhausted from running , and she was crying. What came down the cheeks of this sweet child didn't seem like tears, but it look like blood was pouring out of her orbitals.I began to walk closer and closer to her with each slow step I took, trying not to frighten her. Once I got close enough for my eyes to see her visibly, her small, fragile body collapsed on the surface of the wet concrete. I gasped in shock at the sight of her fall and rushed over to the poor child , picking her up and laying her down in the back seat of my convertible. I climbed in the driver's seat and I sped on home.

After about an hour or so, I reached my apartment and carried the little stranger inside. As I walked upstairs with her in my arms, her body began to tremble as if she cold or was frightened of something. Noticing her little golden yellow party dress was soaked from the pouring rain outside, I laid her down and walked down to the basement to find something for her to wear from my box of old clothes. I didn't find anything, but when I got to the bottom of the box, I found my old pure white night gown I used to love wearing to bed. It was perfect for a small child such as herself to wear. I walked back upstairs but was stopped by a hissing cat. It stared at me with those golden eyes. It must be her's, I thought to myself. " Easy there sweet kitten," I continued as I petted the cat's head," I'm not going to hurt your friend, I promise."

The feline calmed down as if to show me he trusted me. I looked at his tag and it read, Mr. Midnight. I smiled at the name because it was unique. I walked up to the bed and slipped off her drenched yellow dress and put on the white gown I picked out for her to wear. Grabbing a hold of the comforter, I pulled it over her tiny figure and kissed her forehead. At first, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. Though when I looked again, she was smiling in her sleep. A grin spread across my face, and I knew that what I did for her was right. Then, the cat climbed on the mattress and curled in her lap. I began to think to myself, Why was she in the rain? What was she running from? Who is after her?  The poor dear must be exhausted. I stepped out of the room as quiet as a mouse and kept thinking to myself, I hope she'll be alright.

I walked downstairs and began tidying up my living room for I knew she was a guest in this house, and I wanted her to feel at home.
