Monsters. Monsters everywhere. That's all Percy could see, all he was surrounded by. It was a sea of monsters, all surround him and his friends. Slowly, but surely, they were killing off the monsters. But it was painful, and tiring. It drained the demigods of the Seven. Leo was blasting monsters with fire, his own clothes set aflame. Piper was charmspeaking monsters into lowering their guard and killing them afterwards. Jason was hacking through monsters like they were paper. Frank was shapeshifting and ripping monsters apart. Hazel stood and fought by Frank. And Annabeth, Annabeth was focused, her grey eyes seeming to calculate every move her enemies and her friends would make. Her blond hair was tied up with a hair band, but a few curls framed her angelic face.
Everything was going well for the demigods, the monsters numbers depleted, and soon, they killed the last monster. Or, so they thought. As Percy walked over to Annabeth, he was stabbed in the chest. He screamed in pain and collapsed as Annabeth ran to him and killed the monster. She screamed and started crying. Tears streaming down her cheeks as she carefully shifted her boyfriend, pulling the sword out of his back. She laid him on his back and cradled his head in her lap. He had cuts all along his body. He was bloody, bruised, and broken, but Annabeth thought he was as handsome as always.
Percy's breaths were shaky, and it was obvious he was in pain. Annabeth ran her hand through his hair, over and over again, hoping it would help calm him. And to tell the truth, it did. He looked into Annabeth's eyes, his own eyes dark, but beautiful. Percy was a precious being, who in Annabeth's mind, did not deserve the pain he had gone through.
He cupped Annabeth's cheek with his hand, and used his thumb to wipe away Annabeth's tears. She started singing to him, crying and shaking, but for his sake, trying to stay strong.
(Bold = Annabeth
Bold and underlined = both
Italics- Percy)
"It's just another night
And I'm staring at the moon
I saw a shooting star
And thought of you.
I sang a lullaby
By the waterside and knew
If you were here,
I'd sing to you
You're on the other side
As the skyline splits in two
I'm miles away from seeing you
I can see the stars
From America
I wonder, do you see them too?

So open your eyes and see
The way our horizons meet
And all of the lights will lead
Into the night with me
And I know these scars will bleed
But both of our hearts believe
All of these stars will guide us home.

I can hear your heart
On the radio beat
They're playing 'Chasing Cars'
And I thought
Back to the time.
You were lying next to me
I looked across and fell in love
So I took your hand
Back through lamp lit streets and knew
Everything led back to you
So can you see the stars
Over Amsterdam
You're the song my heart is beating to

So open your eyes and see
The way our horizons meet
And all of the lights will lead
Into the night with me
And I know these scars will bleed
But both of our hearts believe
All of these stars will guide us home

And, oh, I know
And oh, I know, oh
I can see the stars
from America"

Annabeth's voice was shaky, but soft and comforting. Percy smiled and joined in at the first chorus.
The two demigods finished the song and Annabeth kept running her fingers through Percy's hair to calm him. He looked at her with the saddest and most pained puppy eyes she had ever seen.
"Don't leave me..." Annabeth whispered. "I c-can't lose you....." Her voice cracked as she placed her forehead against her boyfriends forehead.
"Shhh......It will all be okay...." He whispered to her. Their friends knelt next to them, tears streaming from their cheeks. He kisses Annabeth's hand.
"Look at me, Wise Girl." He whispered softly.
Annabeth looked at him, her grey eyes filled with tears.
"I love you. Don't ever forget that. I'd go through hell and back again if it meant saving you. You are my one and only, you are my world, and I'll be waiting for you in Elysium. But please, try to be happy, and try to move on. Don't linger on my death." Percy whispers softly to her.
Apollo had run over to them and started to try and heal the young demigod, but it was no use. He had lost so much blood. Sure, Apollo had closed the wounds, but there were no blood bags, and Apollo couldn't flash to camp. No one could teleport now.
Percy's eyes began to flutter, and Annabeth hugged him, kissing him one last time. Just one more time until she meet him in Elysium. At least she would be able to see him again. He hugged her back. Percy's eyes dulled as He releases a slow breath, his last breath. And his last words to Annabeth were "I love you." And her last words to him were "I love you too, Seaweed Brain."
His skin paled, and he lost his usual beach tan. Annabeth screamed for him to wake up, and to come back. She sobbed and held her now dead boyfriend close. His sea green eyes were still open, staring off into the distance. Annabeth looked into his dull sea green eyes and cried harder, but gently closed his eyes.
"Now he could be sleeping...." Piper whispered. Hazel was leaning against Frank and sobbing. Jason was crying and covering his mouth, Piper was comforting Leo, who was shaking and crying, though her own tears betrayed her.
Annabeth sobbed and hid her face in Percy's chest, her fingers curled in his hair. His arms were still around her, but his skin was cold. They were just coming back from greeting Leo....and this is how they were greeted. With the death of their leader, their friend. The one who had been there for them when they needed him.
Percy's hand was closed around something, and it made Annabeth curious. She very gently opened his hand and saw his camp necklace. She gently grabbed the necklace and slipped it over her neck.
"I will never forget you, Percy. You were an amazing boyfriend. You were always there for me, and I thank you for that. Goodbye, my love. I'll see you in Elysium." She whispered and let go of Percy. She grabbed riptide and pocketed the pen. She walked to Camp with her friends, Jason carrying Percy's body. The entire camp decided to make a shroud for Annabeth to keep, rather than to burn, and made a different shroud to burn Percy's body with.
As time went by, Annabeth fell into depression. She missed Percy. She stayed in his cabin, and had actually moved her stuff into his cabin. She slept on his bed, and trained with his sword. Sometimes she swore he was helping her learn how to use the weapon properly. It felt as if Percy was guiding her along the way. And she appreciated it. Annabeth began wearing Percy's hoodies, and jackets. She knew she had her friends to help her, and to guide her. But she wanted Percy back. And nothing was going to change that.
In the end, Annabeth honestly knew that Percy was happy in Elysium. That he would truly wait for Annabeth to come to him. And she awaited her time.
