"RAVEN WAKE UP! WE'RE GONNA BE LATE!" I slowly opened my eyes, sitting up in my bed, rubbing both eyes to adjust to the blinding light of the morning sun sneaking through my curtains.
"RAVEN FOR THE LOVE OF- oh hello, you're awake" .
"Yes light I'm awake." I say yawning
"Well rae get up, we gotta go to school early and get good seats for the lecture today!" Light squealed
I stand up walking to the bathroom, stretching to wake my body from my sleep. I grab my tooth brush and tooth paste beginning my morning routine.
Brush teeth.
Brush hair.
Put on clothes.
Put on makeup.
Struggle with makeup.
Deal with it anyway.
Grab my things and wait for light to finish getting ready.
"LI YOU HAVE BEEN DOING YOUR MAKEUP FOR 30 MINUTES WE NEED TO LEAVE." I yelled the from the kitchen. I sigh closing the book I was hoping to read during the lecture.
10 minutes later light finally decides she's ready.
"Jesus Christ why so fancy for the lecture?" I ask as she twirls around.
"A dress, heels, hair done, full face makeup? God who are you trying to impress? The president?" I laugh
"Nope." She smiles and grabs her bag.
"Then Who? Because you and Evan aren't a thing anymore, thank god. You definitely know Daniel hates everything we own." I say listing off things that I know she wouldn't be dressed up for.
"Okay Rae if you quit trying to guess and I don't know maybe paid attention in class instead of reading you'd know who's gonna be at the lecture today." Light said full of sass as we stepped into the elevator.
"Okay then please inform me of what important figure will be speaking to us on this day." I said with a hint of sarcasm.
"James. Buchanan. Barnes." She said and I swear my entire spirit had left my body.
"Bucky" I barely even said his name.
"What?" She asked
"Uhm Who?" I asked and her jaw dropped.
Of course I knew who he was. He's the one person I look up to and hope to meet. He owns one of the biggest tech companies in the world. My god, i would give anything to learn what I could from him.
"WHO? Oh my god. Rae, he's one of the richest businessmen in the world. He usually comes to 1 college a year to pick an intern. A PAID INTERN." She giggles excitedly.
"But, not only is he rich, oh my his looks. He could kill you with one look." Light says sighing wishfully about him.
"Yeah, okay. And what do you expect him to do when he sees... You all dolled up for him, hmm?" I ask, teasing her slightly.
"My dear, dear raven, I'm hoping to get laid." She said patting my head.
"Okay, you do your thing. But I'm still gonna read during the lecture!" I said escaping the elevator just as it opened and making a run for the front entrance of our apartment building.
I stand outside waiting for light as she walked out from the elevator.
"I hate you and please don't read during the lecture." Light said as we walked towards main campus.
We would have lived in campus but it's much more expensive than our apartment.
As we arrived people with cameras and news outlets were setting up for the arrival of Mr. Barnes, but honestly even though I look up to him as a businessman, him personally seems like a douche.
Light and I finally make it to the lecture hall sitting in the middle section, 3rd row, to the right.
I sit down next to Daniel, light on the other side of me. Daniel as usual is on Tumblr looking for new animes to watch.
As more amd more people come to class, i notice almost every girl in our class had dressed up for the chance to impress Mr. Barnes.
But not me.
Once every one was here and seated, our professor walked into the class, dressed to impress as well, along with everyone on edge awaiting his arrival except me, I had my face in a book as always.
I heard a few squeals from some girls behind us but I chose to keep reading. I earned a few nudges from light, I still didn't move. She then pinched me I looked at her with a death glare.
"Look" was all she said and there he stood. At the front of the class making talk with our professor.
"Alright students. I'm sure most if not all of you know we have a very special guest with us today."
"Mr. James Buchanan Barnes" he said and let him take the floor.
"Good Morning Everyone. As you know I choose 1 student from each university to be my intern, to work beside me and learn from experience."
"The project you all have just recently finished, along with your report, were what I based my decision on." As he finished, many groans were heard. I didn't feel much interest in hearing him talk so I opened my book back up and continued to read.
"Now, all of your projects were absolutely amazing. But there was someone who specifically did her's differently and it was astonishingly brilliant."
"Raven Way?" Mr. Barnes said.
Light gasped, I was still focused on my book.
"Raven." She said grabbing my book.
"What!?" I yelled quietly.
"Mr. Barnes said your name." Light informed.
"What.?" I said quietly.
"Are you Raven?" Mr. Barnes said looking directly at me.
"Y-yes." I said becoming completely embarrassed.
"Congratulations. You are my new intern. Please come to my office after school. " he said and thanked everyone for their time and walked right out the door.
"What. The. Actual. FUCK. " I didn't know what else to say for what happened.
