Little Piece of Heaven (A7X x reader)

- Prologue -

"Okay, come on River and Cash. Time to get ready for bed." I call out from upstairs. "But mommy," my four year old calls, walking close to the bottom of the stairs. "Daddy isn't home yet, neither are our uncles."

I walk down with my pregnant belly out. "Honey, daddy won't be home until later tonight, and you both have big days ahead of you. Now don't you?" I asked.

River looked at me with his bright hazel eyes... just like his daddy...

"That's right mommy!" He calls, rushing to go upstairs to his bedroom. I slightly laugh and get cash from the play pen.

I grab him and hold him close to my arms. "Mama?" He calls. "Yes baby, mama is right here." I carry him up the stairs and into adorable pjs for bed after changing his diaper.

"Mommy! Look at me!" River calls out, jumping next to his bed. He actually put on his pajamas on correct.

"Great job buddy, now what do you do before you get ready for bed?" He moans, "but mom, I already brushed my teeth."

I laugh, "okay honey, just get into bed for me please."

He crawls into bed as I place his younger brother into his crib. I place a small kiss on his forehead and pat his head. Cash rolls into a tiny ball and slowly falls asleep.

"Mommy?" River asks as I walk closer to his bed. "Yes baby?" I asked, trying to squat. "If I fall asleep fast enough, will daddy and everyone else come home?" I smile at him.

"Daddy will be home tomorrow, okay?" I say, placing a kiss on his forehead.

"Okay mommy, I'll just sleep now." He says, holding his teddy bear both of our parents bought him.

I get back up and turn off the bedroom light. "Goodnight little ones, I'll see you tomorrow morning." I whisper.

I slightly close the door and walk downstairs to the kitchen.

I sigh out loud and place my hands on my tummy. "Oh, can't wait to find out who you are little one." I smile, going to the fridge to grab a water bottle and some grapes.

I walk into the living room and pop a squat on the couch. I look out the window at the wonderful beach of California.

And to think, being 15 years old never wanting to leave (Your home state).

I chuckle at the thought, and I look down at my wedding ring. And to think, a man could love me like Matt does.

I feel my phone vibrate like a heartbeat, I pull my phone out of the hoodie pocket.

Hey baby girl, hope the kiddos didn't give you too much of a hassle with getting to bed. And sorry I'm not home on time, the bus got a flat.

I smile at the text message. He's so sweet, and I just don't understand why Val treated him like absolute crap.

River is Val and Matts baby boy, but I was more of a mother to him than Val ever could be. Even before we started dating, they would want me to babysit River while he was still in diapers.

Of course I did it for obvious reasons; to be nice, to help my best friend out, and be respectful to his girlfriend... and maybe to show Matt that I'm better than the SKANK, or the "girl" he's with.
