I slowly and quietly walked up the stairs, while my brother James was counting to 20
.9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14...
Before I could walk any further, my best friend Lexie, grabbed me almost shoving me into the wall, she said: "where should we hide?" Before I could answer she pulled me into the laundry room and we bolted over to behind the washer and dryer.
We heard James coming yelling: "where are you guys?" We almost burst into laughter, We heard James coming close to the laundry room, so I whispered to Lexie: "Go into the next room." She said: "But won't he find me there?" "No, of course not." She gave me a funny look and said: "Fine, but she if I get caught..." I shoved her through the door into the next room before she could finish what she was saying. It made a huge bang when I shoved her in.
"Aha!" said James, He had found Lexie, She looked at me and said: "You tricked me." I could tell, she was mad "Yeah, you walked right into that one," I said. "That's not fair, why do you always have to cheat," she said. "You're it anyways so just... go count." Said, James. "It's getting kinda late, I should get going."
When she said that, I knew she was mad, the street lights haven't even come on yet! "Okay," I replied.

Lexie slammed the front door, I was wondering if I should text her or something or even just walk her home, but I just thought she needed time to cool down. So I just let her have some time to herself.
I could tell James was a bit upset, so I told him to come watch TV with me and relax while eating chips and stuff.

"Spencer, do you think Lexie is going to be alright?" I looked at him, he was sad about everything, so I cracked a smile and said: "Why wouldn't she be?" He smiled and continued to watch TV.
About 10 minutes later, James had fallen asleep on the couch next to me, I was feeling a bit sleepy, so I closed my eyes and thought: This was going to be a good rest of my night.
So I thought.
