"Magnus, we need your help. Make us a portal." Jace announced walking into Magnus' fancy, decorated apartment uninvited, along with the rest of the New York and Los Angeles Institute residents.

"Do you have to barge in all the time. I have a lock for a reason. " Magnus glared angrily.

"Magnus please..." Alec spoke softly, holding Max in his arms. "We all need your help."

"You're lucky I love your friend so much." Magnus kissed both Alec and Max's cheek walking to the door. "What's the problem now, and where to?"

"Idris. We had a guest staying at the institute and last night they mentioned something about a disease called 'Demon Pox' and when we woke up this morning they had been turned into a giant worm!" Clary stated simply.

"Demon Pox? That takes me back," Magnus's voice was filled with amusement. "So you want to talk to the Clave about a disease?"

"No. Well, yes," Clary stumbled over her words. "We want to speak to the clave about getting rid of the demon that is the cause of this disease."

"Alright then, let's go to Idris then." Magnus began to create the portal while Alec wrapped his free arm around Magnus's waist, sliding his hand lower and lower. Trying his best to take his mind off Alec's wandering and focusing on creating the portal he altered the spell without realizing it.

A thick fog swallowed them all and transports them to the location Magnus's spell was created to take them. They landed on a bridge over a river. In the distance a clock ticks.

"Magnus," Julian Blackthorn gripped Emma's hand. "We're not in Idris... where are we?"

"We're in London..." Magnus trailed off as a woman in a corset and puffy skirt walked on the sidewalk next to a gentleman with a top hat walking on the side of the road protecting her from the dirt.

"London?" Jace questioned. "If this is London then why are people wearing corsets and top hats?"

"Well, you see, the thing is..." Magnus hesitated. "We traveled back in time... this is London, 1878."

"You traveled us back in time?! How hard was it to just make a portal? You've done it a thousand times." Jace grunted. "How are we supposed to get back in our time? "

"I'm not quite sure yet... but until then let's stop by the London Institute and meet a friend of mine. William Herondale. " Magnus began walking in the direction of the Institute

"Herondale? Jace's relative?" Simon asked for clarification as he wrapped his arm lovingly around Izzy bringing her closer to protect her from whatever may lurk in the fog.

"Obviously."

Magnus was striding up to the door and knocking when Simon piped up again, "Wait, wouldn't this change the future? Like in the movie Back To The Future?"

Before anyone could reply to Simon, footsteps and singing approached the doors. "Demon pox, oh demon pox. Just how is it acquired? One must go down to the bad part of town until one is very tired. Demon pox, oh demon pox, I had it all along—no not the pox, you foolish blocks, I mean this very song—for I was right, and you were wrong!"

"Demon pox... maybe he could help us figure out how to get rid of that demon!" Simon announced.

The door opened and William Herondale is standing there. "Magnus!"
