"Come on, Payton!" Ricky whined as he pulled on Payton's leg. She gripped onto the bed as her two best friends tried to pull her off. "You lost a bet with us and you said you would go to the party!" Ricky added. He was right, she had lost the bet for the last summer bash party. She had thought that Britney Kibby, the party planner, would throw it at her beach house, but the boys both thought she would throw it at her regular house.
"Nooooo, please you guys both know I hate parties." She exclaimed and gripped her pillows.
"We know, but there is no choice in the matter. You promised us!" Dominic, Ricky's twin brother stated and pulled on her other leg. Payton whined and reluctantly let go. Both boys went flying back, and onto her floor. Payton laughed and sat up. They both tried to fix their crew cuts, the same cut they had always had. Their dad made them keep the look, luckily for them they pulled it off. They weren't even that bad looking, some may even call them the wonder twins. Both had dirty blond hair, and dull blue eyes. Ricky had a mole on the corner of his lip, so that's how people could tell them apart. Payton never really noticed their looks. She pointed at them.
"Ha! Karma's a bi-"
"Guys! Melissa is here to pick you up!" Payton's mom cut her off. They all inwardly rolled there eyes at the thought of Melissa. They knew she would pick them up, she's always on a tight schedule.
"Shot gun!" Called Payton out of the blue. As the three rushed toward Melissa's car.
"Guys! It's 7:35! We are running 5 minutes late! Get in!" Melissa shouted.
"Haven't you heard of 'fashionably late'?" sarcastically asked Payton while stepping into the front seat. Ricky and Dominic climbed into the back and Melissa drove off in a hurry.
Melissa had on some teenybopper jams- the songs that all three of them hated. Payton quickly clicked on her station a immediately knew the song.
"Oh my god! Guys this is the song that we all sang at your birthday party!" Payton jumped excitedly and pointed to the two boys.
"Ugh. Really? Panic at the disco... again?" Melissa flopped her head onto the back of her seat. Her blonde locks laid all across her shoulders and chair. They were at the red light so she didn't have to look at the road momentarily.
"Of course! C'mon Mel' lighten up a bit will ya?" Ricky leaned up front and turned it up more.
"TONIGHT WE ARE VICTORIOUS!" The three of them yelled and continued to sing. Melissa gripped the steering wheel and grumped, but eventually she mumbled along to the song.
She smirked as she sang. "I'm like a scarf trick, all up the sleeve." She sounded almost devilish.

Lucinda Gardener lounged lazily in her bed scrolling through Pinterest. She was looking for homecoming dresses even though the dance was two months away. Her search was rudely interrupted by a text from her best friend, Luna.
It read, "Lucy, are you dressed and ready for the party? You said you would pick me up at 7:30 and it is 7:20"
Lucinda had completely forgotten about the party and now had 5 minutes to get ready and 5 to pick up Luna.
She scrambled around her room grabbing clothes and accessories and throwing them on. She pulled her long, ruby brown hair up into a messy bun. Lastly, she grabbed her makeup bag. She would have to do her makeup in the car.
Lucy ran down stairs to grab her keys and then rushed out the door.
When Lucy got to Luna's house, she let Luna drive so that Lucy would have at least 10 minutes on the way to Britney's to do her makeup. She had to look especially presentable since Daniel was going to be there. This was probably going to be the last time she saw him for a while since Daniel had graduated and was heading to college in the fall around the same time that Lucinda would start her senior year of high school. Even though they weren't dating, Lucinda wanted to keep in touch with Daniel. She was determined to get his number tonight at the party.
